“Fantastic Weekend Break”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed February 25, 2013

we spent a outstanding weekend at the Barn and Pinn, the accommodation is in a lovely location and has lovely gardens to sit and watch the world go by, we stayed in one of the luxury rooms room 9 having a four poster bed lovely crisp bedding and lovely en suite also had its own little private garden.the owners Pete and Kim showed us around the cottage and all of the rooms are of a high standard.Breakfast was cooked by Pete and to a high standard and caters for all needs and is cooked fresh and to order.Evening meal cooked by Pete was of a very high standard and again cooked fresh, I must say that Kim's Pudding was out of this world Apple and Raspberry Crumble. The cottage is near to the town and beach. it also has a lovely lounge area, Breakfast room and Restaurant with a small bar and is lovely in character. would definitely recommend and looking forward to going back to this lovely cottage and owners who nothing is to much trouble.

Room Tip: Luxury rooms are will worth the extra money.

We stayed at the Cottage for 3 nights over the Valentines weekend, the cottage is absolutely beautiful, the standard is more than 5*, very very clean and very well presented. The bed was a great comfort, with lovely crisp white linen. We stayed in room 5 which has all the cottage features with the bonus of a poster bed. Kim and Peter were more than welcoming and friendly. We were greeted with a tray of tea, coffee and biscuits. The evening meal was cooked to perfection and Kim's lemon meringue was fabulous too. Peter's also treated us to his homemade sloe gin which was really nice. Thanks Peter. The Cottage is not far by car to Sidmouth, and also quite central to visit other towns, we visited Teignmouth, Dawlish, Dorchester & Weymouth. We will definitely pass the word around as this was a Superb stay. Lisa & John - Birmingham

Room Tip: We loved room 5 for the sheer cottage features and the bonus of the poster bed, having had a tour of...

Thank you for your review, we are glad you enjoyed your stay with us and my lemon meringue pie! Everyone loves and comments on Peters cooking as you know he is chef and cooks your lovely breakfast and starters and mains at dinner, but you are the first to mention my puddings, so thank you. It was lovely to meet you both and our pleasure to show you round the cottage. You are more than welcome back anytime! Take care, Kim and Peter

Having spent a fantastic Christmas with our daughter and family in Somerset we decided to have 5 days of " our " time which we certainly got at the Barn and Pinn Cottage. Kim and Peter did all in their power to make our stay an enjoyable one. The warm welcome we received made up for the horrible weather especially the day we spent in the lounge with the log burner making it very cosy.We stayed in room No 1 but after been shown round we quite fancy one of the luxury rooms downstairs for our next stay. If you want excellent clean accommodation, good food and great hosts this is the place for you.

Had a great stay at the Barn and Pinn Cottage in Sidmouth for New Year. The place was beautiful and spotless having been recently refurbished. The bedding was comfortable, crisp and clean and the owners friendly, accommodating and organised. The vegetarian breakfast was great. Would definitely recommend and go back.

It is an ideal B and B if you have dogs or just want some peace and tranquillity and to enjoy the lovely Devon scenery. There is also a great pub opposite the B and B called The Bowd Inn.

Room Tip: The luxury rooms are worth the extra.

We stayed in mid-December for 3 nights in room 7, a separate 'outbuilding' to the main cottage. It was to an excellent standard. Kim and Peter were great hosts and very welcoming especially as we were the only guests staying that weekend - nothing was too much trouble. They gave us a tour of the rest of the guest house and it was decorated and furnished very tastefully and to an exceedingly high standard, in particular the en-suite bathrooms. The breakfasts catered for all diets and were cooked to perfection. Considering that the cottage is on a main road you could not hear the traffic at all - it was very peaceful and the breakfast room looked out onto the garden with its many birds and squirrels. A superb short stay and will be the first of many.

Room Tip: All the rooms are superb but in particular the two four poster bedrooms.

A delightful place we fully recommend to anyone, especially Aussies, travelling through England. Excellent accommodation, meals and amenities. Beautifully positioned, quiet, peaceful and relaxing. Great hosts and a very warm and welcoming atmosphere. Close to Sidmouth and other points of interest. Clean and beautifully maintained. This was our first holiday in a long time and a special one to the UK. The Barn & Pin really made it for us. Wonderful to be there and in such beautiful surroundings with a great history. The Pub near by serves excellent meals as well. Bruce and Lynne Laird

Room Tip: All the rooms were great

We found our way to Pinn Cottage on a very stormy night, soaking wet, cold and rather fed up as we'd had to abandon our car in a giant puddle in the November floods. We were immediately made to feel very welcome by Kim and Peter. We stayed in a lovely room with an en suite which had a fantastic hot shower (heaven), the bed was very comfortable and the room was clean, warm and cosy, it was perfect. We were provided with a much needed tray of tea and biscuits and a bottle of spring water, and our coats and shoes were taken to be dried out in the boiler room - we were very well looked after! The breakfast the next morning was superb - a perfectly cooked full English with a vegetarian option and an excellent choice of fruits, yoghurts, cereals, juices, tea and coffee - we really were spoilt for choice. We felt very grateful to have stumbled upon Kim and Peter's hospitality and home comforts at Pinn Cottage and we'll definitely be back for another stay in more relaxed circumstances!

Thank you for your review we were just so glad we could help you on such an awful night. The weather was truly unbelievable. It would be lovely to see you again, a little less damp and when you are not meant to be elsewhere. We are doing a 3 for 2 offer 2nd Jan - 27th of March if you are visiting friends and fancy being spoilt for a few days just let us know. Kind regards Kim and Peter
