we have been coming to the longhouse for some years now & absolutely love the place & the hosts. nothing is ever too much trouble for pete & lynne so it adds to the feeling of relaxation considerably. we chose the garden room for a change this year as we wanted to use the outside cooking fascilities etc & it couldn't really have been better. to be honest, we can't find fault with anything & now my boss is trying to book for a long weekend so the well kept secret of the longhouse is out at my office. missing the peace, the views, the hospitality & the breakfasts already!!!

A wonderfully peaceful location high above Sidmouth with very welcoming hosts. They seem to have thought of everything with lots of little touches designed to make your stay more effortless and enjoyable. The breakfast is delicious with quality ingredients cooked to perfection. Recommended ++

stayed for 1 night for rest and relaxation after a hectic weekend at a wedding, only wish we could have stayed for longer. the views were immense and the accommodation fantastic. Peter and Lynne were so welcoming, stayed in the garden room which was just lovely and the breakfast delicious. Amazing value for money.

Unfortunately, we were only able to stay one night in this beautiful, peaceful location. Our welcome on arrival was outstanding - coffee on the terrace overlooking Sidmouth. The Cyclamen room was very comfortable with good en-suite facilities. Peter and Lynne recommended a restaurant for dinner and even booked it for us - it was excellent. Very picturesque walk along the coastal path into Sidmouth. On our return after dinner it was so relaxing to sit outside and admire the view. Great breakfast options and perfectly cooked and presented. It really was like visiting good friends and we certainly hope to arrange a return visit.

We were lucky enough to have booked four nights at the Longhouse. Such a beautiful property, stylishly designed and very well appointed. We were made to feel very welcome and Pete and Lynne were more than accommodating for all of our needs. We loved the location, it is out of the main town area and as mentioned in other reviews has stunning views, but it is also only 5 minutes away from the shops and restaurants and the lovely corniche. Sidmouth was a great base for us to explore Devon and it was a delight to return each evening to such a beautiful property.

Sadly we only had one night at The Longhouse. By far the best we have stayed at from Swanage to Exmouth. A very comfortable and stylish house in a great location - the view between the pines over the bay is stunning. Pete and Lynne are great company and we felt like we staying with old friends. If you are walking or cycling in the area this place must be your first choice - plan your route around it. Sidmouth is handy too - it doesn't close at 8.30 and has good places to eat/drink.
