“Getting Tired ”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed yesterday NEW

This is my hotel of choice when I need to stay near Heathrow. Whilst the staff are as friendly as always, the hotel itself is slowly fading. Lack of attention to general cleanliness is starting to show. Examples are stained carpets in the hallways & marks on cafe tables. This IS a budget hotel and ideal if you're staying just one or two nights, but don't expect 2 or even 3 star, it does what it says on the tin, a comfortable bed and clean bathroom. Food is ok if you don't mind microwave meals and it's very reasonably priced. Don't expect too much and you won't be disappointed.

Stayed again at the Travelodge Terminal 5 before flying to San Francisco. They have a new and improved menu in the restaurant and have really improved their service. Sujata was excellent helping during check in and Gilbert was also very helpful.

This hotel is close to T5 at Heathrow, assuming you have a car. There is not much in the area as it is housed within what seems like a trading estate. There is a large multistory car park at the front of the hotel with a bus stop and a taxi pick up point. The only way to get to the hotel without a car is by using the hotel hoppa bus or by taxi. If there are two or more travelling together, get a taxi as it will be faster and either the same price, or cheaper. A local taxi company offers fixed fares, the number available from the hotel website.

Check in was quick with self service kiosks as well as a front desk being open. The lobby also has a bar cafe serving light meals and drinks.

Lifts serve all floors. The rooms are of a typical Travelodge standard. Clean and fairly comfortable. The room has a large double bed, a small area to hang clothes, a small TV with basic channels as well as tea and coffee making facilities. There is also a small writing table and chair. The rooms are equipped with air conditioning.

The bathroom is modern and has shower gel with ample towels.

Irons and hairdryers can be requested from reception, free of charge.

Due to the location and the cost involved of getting a taxi/bus/paying for parking, I would only advise staying here if you get a cheap room rate. If you have stayed in a Travelodge before, it will be of a similar standard. I would also advise looking at the prices of the other Travelodge, Heathrow Central. That is not as convenient for T5 as this, but has better transport links and is better for T1-3.

Free WI-FI is provided for 30 minutes only. You do have the option to buy more time, however the strength is not fantastic.

Rooms are fairly quiet with only faint aircraft noise heard.

Overall, this is just an average hotel catering for overnight stops before/after a flight.

This is a standard Travelodge hotel on an industrial estate only 10 mins from T5. Easy to find just off the M25 . There is a pub a short walk away that serves food and it is reasonably priced. If you come out of the side road you drive in on and turn right it is about 10 mins. Be prepared for people coming and going at all hours so if you are a light sleeper take ear plugs.

Needing a Friday night T5 hotel I paid just £22 inc. VAT (advance booking). Terrific value and it delivers well. Clearly the presentation is utilitarian/budget which is what you expect. Room superbly maintained and clean and staff wonderfully friendly. I ate at T5 - I was transferring from Gatwick - and i am glad. The bar/cafe did not look inviting, prices looked good tho. Unfortunately not on the 'free bus run' like some of the T3 hotels so had to pay £9 for a Hotel Hoppa Bus return, ridiculous although not the fault of Travelodge. I would stay again.

No where near Terminal 5 it is in the Middle of an Industrial Estate.
You pay through the Nose for a short Shuttle Bus Journey to and from the Airport.
The worst Breakfast in the world had to get a refund !!

We stayed here for one night on arrival at Terminal 5 and decided to pick up our hire car before arrival to avoid the cost of the terminal bus transfer. I find it incredible that you are charged £7.50 to park your car overnight in an unsecure car park, but at least this was cheaper than the bus fares to and from Terminal 5. The hotel boasts about its recent refurbishment and it's clear on arrival that everything is new and clean. Our room was spotless and had all the basics we needed.

We were on the top floor and combined with the proximity to the airport, the windows did not open at all so the lack of fresh air was disappointing, but we could understand the reasons why. The hotel corridors were very noisy and unlike other hotels who stress the need to be quiet for the comfort of other guests, people seemed to be banging and crashing along the corridors at all hours of the night. So not the best night's sleep perhaps but given that we paid just over £30 for the room, we were happy to weigh up all the pros and cons.

We had a couple of drinks in the bar before heading to our room and my husband ordered fish and chips. It arrived quickly and even though it was obviously a frozen/fast food style item, he said it was very tasty and hit the spot for what he was looking for later at night. The staff were very friendly and because we had prepaid everything in advance our check in and check out was very quick indeed.

Finally, I have commented in far too many hotel reviews about the charges for wifi - it's an absolute rip off. The Travelodge goes some way to resolve this by offering every guest 30 minutes free. However, the service is dreadfully slow so you can only just about get the chance to check your emails once you get online before the time runs out and the system logs your device so your husband is not able to log in separately to check his own things - so it's not true to say it's 30 minutes per guest, but 30 minutes per device, which is a waste of time. Charges thereafter are silly and not worth the time if you are just there for one night. One of these days hotels will realise that charging for internet is outdated and just puts guests off wanting to come back again.

Room Tip: Rooms on the upper floors have sealed windows so no access to fresh air
