First of all, is this a restaurant? I didn't think so.....
I live locally to this place and personally I think it has lost its identity. From what I understand from other people who have lived here a lot longer than I it used to a be a real boozer with a pool table, mixed age group of drinkers and welcoming to all! Now however it only seems to open it's doors at the weekend (and Thursdays) and welcomes in a very specific group of people, namely the under 25's from areas outside of Altrincham like Wythenshawe.
I don't have an objection to late night drinking establishments, heck, I have frequented enough of them over my years. What I do object to is the constant re-invention of itself. For the most part the building is lovely but it seems to be seldom treated with the respect it deserves but instead given layers and layers of paint and a new sign every week. I think it is clear to the owners that what they are doing there might not be working so they lurch into trying something new, give it a couple of weeks and then repeat.
I would prefer to see some stability in the place. Make it look a bit classier. Attract in the locals who will eat and drink during the week. With the hospital build started now opposite there is a real opportunity to create something all the worker would flock to. Right now however all this place is, is a destination for non locals to come, get drunk and ultimately throw up on the road outside.
Please sort it out.
PS The last and only time I have been to this place was last summer however I walk past it almost daily and see the carnage outside at weekends very often.
