“Absolutely gorgeous”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 12, 2012

Lovely large beautifully styled rooms. What a house! What a garden! The owners are really lovely and accommodating.
We were visiting the area playing golf at Aboyne, Ballater and Braemar for which Osborne House is perfectly positioned in the middle.
Will be highly recommending Osbourne House to friends and family.

Thank-you for taking time to post a review. We are so glad you enjoyed staying with us and that you had a weekend of beautiful weather for your golf. We were also delighted that you could make good use of our garden for a pre-dinner glass of wine. Thank-you again for returning the glasses to the kitchen and replacing the chairs in the summerhouse. Looking forward very much to seeing you all again next year and fingers crossed for equally good weather.

We stayed for one night and simply loved the Osborne Bed and Breakfast.

Neil and Heather's house exudes old world charm, and their collection of antiques/ books compliment the beautiful architecture of the house. I found our room to be well appointed, with the softest throw I have ever felt ( Scottish cashmere company, I believe). The water pressure and temperature was amazing!

Heather was very kind in calling surrounding restaurants for reservations ( it was Sunday so we weren't sure what was open) and eventually we settled on a little nearby hotel restaurant when I inquired about seeing the red squirrels ( she was right!!!). The gardens were simply delightful! I wish it hasn't rained as much so I could have spent more time outside.

Overall a nice visit and we would love to stay here again.

Thank-you for taking time to post a review. It was lovely to meet you and we are very pleased you enjoyed staying with us and that your visit to the nearby restaurant we were able to book was a success. Seeing the squirrels was a real bonus. We are so lucky we still have red squirrels in the area.

Only stayed for one night but thought the Osborne House was beautiful. The owners Heather and Neil were very kind and thoughtful and we just wished the stay was a bit longer. I am a musician and this was booked for me by someone local to Ballater who was obviously making sure that we were given superior accommodation. Myself and another member of my band stayed for one night and would certainly recommend to anyone wanting to visit Ballater.

We stopped one night in Ballater during an 8 day tour of Scotland. The Osborne House was one of our favorite B&Bs! Heather and Neil were so welcoming and their home is beautiful. The view out the skylight in our room was amazing. It was raining (go figure!) the evening we arrived, and the cheery fire in the cozy sitting room was the perfect way to relax with a cup of tea. Fantastic breakfast, I liked Heather's eggs and salmon best of all the places we stayed. Before we departed, Heather and Neil took us for a tour of the garden. This was one thing that attracted us to book Osborne House, the tucked-out-of-the-way quality. Wish we could have stayed longer!

Thank-you for taking time to post a review and for including the photographs you took which will be very useful for other travellers. The weather cannot be guaranteed to be warm in Scotland but an open fire does wonders to lift the spirits. We too like the way our house gradually reveals itself as you approach. Thank-you for your very complimentary comments.

My wife and I travelled Scotland by car with our two teenagers and get to this wonderful place by luck. We enjoyed very much our one nigth stay at Osborne House thanks to the very warm welcome from Neil and Heather and their hospitality.
The house and rooms are beautiful, clean and confortable.
It is much more than a B&B. It was like staying with family.
Breakfast was delicious. First class.
Our best B&B experience.

Room Tip: All the house is great !

Thank-you for your review. We feel lucky too that you found us since we enjoyed having you to stay with us and we are glad that you felt so welcome and comfortable in our home. I am so pleased that you enjoyed your Scottish breakfast. It was interesting too for us to see photographs of the countryside around Bogata and to notice the similarities to the landscapes of Scotland. I also enjoyed talking about the garden with you. We very much hope to be able to welcome you to Osborne House again some time in the future.

Without exaggeration this really is a delightful place to stay. Heather and Neil's attention to detail is obvious as soon as you see the house in it's beautiful setting. The house is spotlessly clean and the bedrooms have more space than any we have previously stayed in. Breakfast was delicious, especially the Stornaway black pudding and served at your convenience ( "sorry Heather" ) We felt instantly at home and at ease as we were met with a warm welcome and tea and cake. Other important points are, ample parking, really comfortable beds, shower that actually worked, 5 min walk from centre of village. All in all a perfect place to stay!

Thank-you for taking time to post a review. We are so pleased Osborne House lived up to what you must have expected having seen our website, especially since you booked so long in advance, last July in fact, shortly after we opened for business. Were you giving us time to practise? I'm joking! But I do apologise for not having your breakfast exactly on time each day of your stay. The points you made in your review will be very useful for other travellers I think. Thank-you.
