We had a lovely 2 night break in this hotel. Staff were friendly, very welcoming & the service was good. The room was clean and average sized. Bed was very comfy. The food was lovely with an excellent choice for breakfast. The entertainment on the Friday evening was a folk singer who covered a range of songs & was accompanied by the drum major from the local pipe band (on the bodrum). This was very good and he even promised if we were going back to play a particular song I had requested but he didn't have the words for at that time. Saturday night entertainment wasn't our cup of tea (2 old men on squeeze box & 1 on drums), but other people liked it. We managed to pick up some nice we xmas gifts in the shops. All in all a very enjoyable stay.

First can i say, thank you very much for a most relaxing break. just what we needed, Everything was perfect, rooms nice and clean, beautiful white sheets, and plenty of hot water. Breakfast was excellent, with plenty of choice. Dinner was first class, with good choice, could not fault it at all.......All staff we very helpfull and polite, very well run, manager Dan and Dave run a very beautifull hotel......its a shame they are closed all winter, but cant wait till they open again on the 23rd March, and will certainly be going back...... we went on a DB&B for 3 nights and it was excellent value.......thanks again....

Room Tip: we were on the first floor, beautiful room

Difficult to assess with hotel closing for further refurbishment during the winter. Room was fine and food well presented and varied. Staff were not up to speed but that maybe was the result of the impending closure of the hotel. Come next year when re-opened will likely re-visit when we would expect the staff standards to have also improved.

Room Tip: Ist floor to front benefits from larger windows and reasonable outlook

My husband and I enjoyed a lovely break at the Deeside Inn where we had the pleasure of renewing our friendship with Dan the manager ...........Dan used to be at the Dreadnought in Callander .....The hotel was excellent as was the food ....the room was nice and cosy and the bed was very comfortable ....The lounge room was most inviting with its big log fire and very comfortable settees and chairs.....You did not want to leave !! The food was great with a good varied choice ....On one occasion I could not eat what was on the menu (due to medical problems ) but it was not a problem for the Chef who very kindly cooked me something fresh so that I did not go hungry ..........Service indeed ....A hotel to be highly recommended ......

My husband and I used to go to the former Loiriston Hotel regularly but as the service declined we stopped going a few years ago ....To our delight we heard that it had changed hands again and an old friend (Dan from the Dreadnought in Callander) was now in charge.....We could not wait to go back up to the now re-named Deeside Inn and renew our friendship with Dan once again ...........We were not disappointed...The food , ambience , and comfort of the Hotel room was as we expected ......Nothing is too much trouble for the staff ...even the Chef will cook you something different if (as happened in my case) due to medical problems there was nothing suitable for me to eat at dinner ....I left after dinner that night feeling a bit special that someone had bothered to do something different to accomodate my diet ......Many a Hotel I have stayed in has not bothered .....I cannot recommend the Deeside Inn highly enough and my husband and I cannot wait for April to come round when we intend to return for another enjoyable break

Room Tip: Avoid the ground floor unless you are disabled as they are a bit smaller than the ones upstairs

Had a great overnight stay in this hotel and cannot understand the previous bad comments left by other visitors. Suite was very spacious and warm. Bed was extremely comfortable and it was a thought to get out it in the morning. Bathroom is on the small side but ample and had plenty hot running water. All staff were very polite and helpful. Food was good and was always presented well. Agree with a comment from a previous vistor regarding not being asked if a drink was required, but found on asking for this it was not a problem and was served at table in no time. All in all had a good overnight stay and will certainly return if in the area again.

I have now stayed at the Deeside Inn on three occasions over the last three months and the hotel is definitely improving.
It really is potentially a superb bolt hole from the world. It has an excellent location in a fantastic little village.
Most recently I took advantage of a two night DB&B break (including wine at Dinner) at a brilliant price. A brilliant price can be meaningless if the stay is not great - however, nothing about my stay disappointed.

I was given a double room on the first floor front and it was delightful - spotlessly clean bedroom and bathroom, crisp white cotton sheets and duvet cover - bright, airy well ventilated and heated - as well as a good range of tea, coffee and biscuits.

Dinner has always been a forte at the Deeside Inn and both nights were completely up to scratch - a good, limited selection of very tasty items on the table d'hote menu with an a la carte option - service from the waiting staff was professional yet friendly - white linen napkins are another mark of a restaurant with decent standards and finally an old fashioned, highland banqueting hall feel - great.

Breakfast really sets you up for the the day they say and that's really true of the breakfast here. A great range of cold morning goods; fruit, yoghurt, cereal, juice, etc Excellent range of choices on the hot breakfast menu - eggs benedict, full highland breakfast, finnan haddock etc etc - and not just a great selection but well prepared, hot and very tasty - mixed toast is of course a given. A special mention for the lovely friendly Spanish young lady who greets you with a big smile.

Sadly, the hotel closes for the winter on 31st October - I was looking forward to winter nights in front of the hotels many roaring open fires - I hope that Crerar Hotels supports the hard work of Dan, Davie and the staff by continuing/completing the refurbishment over the winter months (especially the bathroom fittings please) and that Spring brings an even better Deeside Inn.

Room Tip: If you have reason to complain about anything (and it can happen) approach the staff in a reasonable...
