“Highly Rated and worth a visit”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 19, 2013

Last night was my 1st time here, I was meeting members of family, 17 to be more precise that is a large number for one sitting, we were all accommodated with ease, and though it was Wednesday, Banquet night and surprisingly busy walking in, it did not effect, the service one bit.
The drinks arrived with ease, the starters arrived, the main arrived with side order`s, normally you expect something to go adrift but not tonight, all went to a plan, all had a great evening and the food bill was reasonable. Excellent food and service well done Lounge India.

“Always good food!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 8, 2013

I don't know why I have not reviewed this restaurant before,it may be because I wanted to keep it to myself. Seriously though I have eaten at Lounge India many times. The food never disappoints and the take-aways are the same. The staff are friendly and attentive with good customer service. I have eaten there with my family and regularly with friends from work on banquet night (Wednesdays) . If you like Indian food then try this little gem in Marston Moretaine, I'm sure you will enjoy it.

“Always good food, in pleasant surroundings”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 20, 2013

We have eaten several times at the Lounge India, and also had takeaways, and it never disappoints. When eating in the resturant we are always greeted by friendly staff, and the food is always consistant, even when having a take away.
As always when somewhere is successful it can get very busy so it is advisable to book, and if you do have to wait it is worth it.

“LEFT AFTER AN HOUR WORST SERVICE EVER”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed June 6, 2013

I booked a table for three for 7.30pm we arrived at 7.25pm and were asked to sit in the waiting area. We were eventually taken through to a table at 7.45pm after watching people come in without a booking get seated first.

Once sat our drinks order was taken two bottles of cobra and a lemonade and an order for four poppadoms was placed. After a further 10 mins the drinks arrived two pints of cobra and a glass of flat lemonade all of which were sent back to be replaced.

shortly after we got the replacement drinks and the poppadoms which in fairness were all ok with a nice selection of onions and sauces. At this point the level of service totally dropped off and we sat there after finishing the poppadoms waiting for the table to be cleared and our order to be taken. we eventually prompted a waiter about taking our order and instead of taking it there and then he had a discussion with another member of staff and told us some one would be with us shortly.

Five more minutes passed and still no waiter or order taken and the time now 8.30 we decided to call it a day there and find somewhere else for dinner as based on the serivce so far we would not be eating until after 9.00pm. if we wanted to eat that late we would have booked a table for that time.

As we went to the bar to pay for the drinks and food we had had the waiter apologised and said they were busy but really thats for them to control by making sure they can turn the amount of covers they have with the level of staff they have instead of just filling the resturant up and expecting their customer to wait an unreasonable amount of time.

As we were paying the manager came over and offered again to take our order and rush it through but i explained that they had there chance when we were sat down and we would not be coming back.

“The Best Indian Dining This Side Of India”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 8, 2013

How often do you order an Indian takeaway and feel the bitter disappointment when you are greeted with a synthetic sauce, two pieces of congealed chicken from a tin and a greasy cold onion bhaji. It's happened to all of us! Well, now you need never have another poor Indian takeaway experience. Lounge India offers the discerning diner a high quality takeaway every single time.

We mainly order takeaway from this place but have been known to frequent the restaurant. Inside, the decor is chic and the ambience is heavenly. It is never too noisy and the relaxing Indian music in the reception area gently soothes. Even while you wait, you can relax on comfortable seating and soak up the mise en scene, while you wait for a table or your order, if you are having a takeaway.

Before we get onto the food, let's talk about the staff and the service. I can only commend the service here. Staff are attentive, courteous and glide around the restaurant with effortless unflappable abandon. The owner is a real gem. A curious man who, with his svelte waistcoat, is both charming and a dab hand at comedic anecdotes. He is worth the trip alone.

The waiters are well dressed, well groomed and dare I say it, some are quite dashing!

Onto the food, a carefully constructed menu with a host of authentic dishes and some traditional favourites. The dishes are always well seasoned and it seems like each ingredient has been considered and discussed before inclusion. Lamb, chicken and prawns figure heavily, as to be expected.

For those with tight purse strings, the set menus offer unbeatable value for money. We are fans of the legendary 'Set Meal C' which has a splendid repertoire of dishes for a mere twelve pounds or so. This set meal is so generous in portion that it does for two. The Tikka is fragrant, distinctively aromatic and accompanied by a most approachable vegetable dish called Niramish.

Even those poor souls who go to an Indian and want an English dish (if I ever see anyone do this in the restaurant I always tut very loudly and frown) are catered for with a handful of 'safe' non Indian meals. To be honest though, this restaurant is all about enjoying a real taste of India, so if it were my restaurant and some fool tried to order an omelette, I would escort them off the premises.

Affordable, memorable and no bad tummies afterwards. This the best Indian restaurant you will find this side of the ocean.
