“A little bit of home..!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 11, 2013 via mobile

Just spent the weekend walking in the lakes. We booked 2 night B&B as we have done often at Abbey Court. The welcome, rooms and breakfast was first class, it's nice to see staff that enjoy serving the customers. The landlady welcomed us like old friends and couldn't do enough for us.I would highly recommend this Guest House if,like me you enjoy clean and informal surroundings with pleasant staff this is the place for you. Thanks for another lovely stay Linda.

Stayed here 3 times now and won't hesitate to be booking here again when i'm back working in the area. The rooms are spotless and the beds are the comfiest i've slept in at a guest house. I've stopped at several place in Carlisle over the years but now I've found this one I won't be going anywhere else. Far enough away from the centre (noise wise) but close enough to walk into. Loads of places to get something to eat too. There's a Dominos pizza place, Indian and Chinese takeaways right across the road and loads more eateries in town. Well recommended. Parking facilities lets it down a bit but don't let that put you off.

Room Tip: Rooms at the rear are quieter but not too bad at the front.

Very comfortable large room in this lovely guest house. Easy parking and easy to find, close to the centre of town. We stayed one night and had a short walk up the road for dinner and also the cinema. Great breakfast and good value.

Was met by the owner. I explained that i parked behind the property by her vehicle, she came and said "why cant you park there"(on the street) as its my dads birthday and i need to goto the cemetry?? She then walked of. I noticed a no parking sign where she told me to park, i walked back and rang the bell and asked if it was ok to park there, she appeared to be annoyed and put out, She yes its ok, then said your hard work to check in!! Showed me to my room (still not even a smile or a how are you)...keys in the door, breakfast is 7 til 9....she then walked off. Ive stayed at b and b's around britain for the past 5 years and as far as impolite unwelcoming owners, this woman takes the biscuit! Shame because room was nice bed was comfortable, and the girl that served me for breakfast was lovely.

Stayed there recently with a group of friends whilst cycling coast to coast. Very clean and comfortable. Breakfast was excellent. Handy location for getting into town but far enough out to avoid the noise. Would recommend for anyone seeking good accomodation at a reasonable price.
