“Breakfast - delightful”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed May 9, 2013

My husband and I were in town early and decided to pop in on a whim. The service was great and very friendly but the food was the best bit for us.

My husband had the mega breakfast and i have the 'Timbers' one. It is clear they use great quality ingredients and all of it was cooked to perfection - nothing over or under cooked which is a rare treat with fry ups.

I have been telling everyone about it and will definitely be returning soon

5 of 5 stars Reviewed May 8, 2013

A friend took me here recently for lunch and I was really impressed. I'm a student and found it great value for money. The food was simple but good, the staff were friendly and it's a lovely cosy place to eat. I reccommend the coconut hot chocolate it was delicious!

Firstly, "thank you" to your friend for bringing you to timbers, and of course, "thank you" for taking the time to review us. We're really pleased you enjoyed our little restaurant, and I'm especially pleased you liked the coconut hot chocolate, (because I made it up and put it on the menu!!) Hopefully you will come back another time and try another one of our speciality drinks, or maybe one of our daily speciality ice cream sundaes! Thanks again, Kind regards

“Great Little eatery”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed April 21, 2013 via mobile

Timbers is a wonderful little restaurant in Colchester town centre the service and food are more than acceptable while it can't be described as high class food it delivers what it says on the tin. I wouldnt go out for a meal as a night out. But if I'm in town and fancy a snack or maybe dont want to cook when I get home then timbers comes well recommend in my opinion. Service is good too.

We're chuffed that you enjoyed visiting timbers, and appreciate us for what we are. An establishment that offers Good, honest home cooked food, seved with a smile and at a reasonable price too. We cant claim to be fine dining, but when we do open occasionally at night we are worth checking out, as the building looks lovely by candle light with table clothes etc, and we operate a different menu altogether. Keep a eye out for an open evening and see what we mean. That aside, thank you for your custom, and the great review, Ali, Simon and the team

“Amazing Homemade Food & Fantastic Staff.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 18, 2013

We visit this gem of a restaurant regularly, and have never ever had a disappointing meal.Ali,lou,Jess, and Justin, always welcome their customers with such warmth,as do the other members of staff, and even when the restaurant is very busy, they go that extra mile,by making each custiomer feel special.Lovely to be greeted with smiling faces.
Lou makes the most amazing soups, which are extremely welcoming, especially on a cold winters day.The food is always hot,and nicely presented. Its so lovely to eat at a restaurant where you know that the products used are fresh, and not processed.
We were truly astonished to read negative comments made about Timbers. Its warm, cozy, and inviting.
I went there for a Christmas festive meal at lunchtime with work collegues, the meal was hot, beautifully presented, and such good value for money.
There is an excellent menu, and again so reasonable in price..suits all budgets.
Would recommend Timbers as a wonderful eating experience.A joy to visit every time.

Well, what can we say! Thank you so much for visiting us, and for reviewing us on trip advisor. We'll probably never get te staffs head out of the doors now, but seriously, its lovely that all of the teams hard work pays off. We always try so hard to ensure that we add fresh, locally sourced products to the menu's or specials boards, and its great that our customers notice! We look forward to seeing you back at timbers soon, and thank you once again . Kind regards, Simon, Ali and the gang

“Excellent”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 13, 2013

On our day visit to Colchester and looking for some where to have lunch,we were recommended by a shop assistant.
Looking from the outside it's looks small, but once inside it's surprising how big it is,you can sit downstairs or upstairs,we were greeted with a friendly smile from the staff.
There is a good selection to choose from the menu, all at reasonable prices, food was excellent with very good portions, but sorry no room for desert, there were four of us and we all agreed it was faultless.
Would highly recommend.
