It's clear some of the food seems frozen, but it's a pub and I expected pub grub. Most chain pubs love to use frozen chips, boil in the bag type veg, etc.

Ribs seemed like the usual ones you get in a pub, nothing special, kinda like supermarket ones. A couple of issues each time with food arriving but nothing major.

I've been a few times now and enjoyed each meal time, It's what I expected of such a place and do plan to return :)

stayed for one night the hotel is in need of a major make over ,only good thing to say the bed was very comfortable. The breakfast room was very dismal and the serve yourself arrangments well one toaster available and there were around 15 people in at the same time. the breakfast it self was edable . did not have any main meals which are available in the main bar so cannot comment on them.

Where do I start to write a review on this hotel? Let's start by saying it wouldn't be out of place in the back streets of Calcutta .. In fact I might be a bit harsh on Calcutta as it might be cleaner than this place .. The place needs a revamp or better still demolition might be the better bet .. The place smells of damp and looks like it has never been cleaned since it was built .. If I was the manager and read a review on my hotel like this I would be reviewing the contracts of my cleaners .. Next question Would I return .. Never in a million years

Staff pleasant, nice old building which contains an ok restaurant chain...then you get sent next door into a hideous building with dirty corridors, filthy walls in the family room, needed a vacuum, beds seemed clean but the bathroom was of another era. Peeling lino, rusty shower rail, cobwebs, stuff all over the floor. I have backpacked around the world and not seen anything much worse than this. The worst hotel I have stayed in for years, moved to the premier inn the next morning...spotless and cheaper!

Room Tip: Stay elsewhere

We had two rooms and stayed for 4 nights while visiting family, the rooms were good size and clean and tidy a great value for money! Breakfast was excellent and the staff were very friendly we also used the bar & restaurant overall we were very pleased with our visit.
We had no complaints we got excellent service and great value for the money!!!
The rooms could do with a lick of paint but we weren't in them that long only to sleep in!
