We met up with family for lunch at this pub. It is a pretty thatched building with a riot of flowers in the gardens. It is really attractive with outside seating.
Inside it is very old world with beams and a log fire. There are a range of local ales as well as other drinks.
As we had booked our table was already set up, complete with high chair for the baby. There was a good choice of meals and we all enjoyed our individual choices. I chose the fresh crab salad and this was excellent. The dressed crab was served in a crab shell alongside a lovely fresh salad, homemade coleslaw and freshly boiled new potatoes. Three others chose the crab, whilst one had the lasagne, crab sandwiches, fish and chips, liver and bacon. All enjoyed their lunch. The desserts were yummy. I had the crème brulee with raspberries in the base, others chose the bread and butter pudding, meringue, ice creams and cheese board. Once again it was excellent.
We will certainly go back there in the future.
It is a 'child friendly' pub (with high chair) but unfortunately no changing area for babies.
The staff were attentive and pleasant.
It was full for Saturday lunch which speaks for itself!
