What more could one ask for at this lovely B&B! The wonderful hosts, Barry and Pauline, can't do enough for you. The locally sourced breakfast is delicious. The exceptional bedrooms are very quaint and home from home. We explored the garden, stream and field with the pigs and hens. We would definitely visit again! Thank you Barry and Pauline for such a warm welcome from the "quiet Williams' "

We stayed at Halse Water cottage self-catering annex for a week, after winning a bid on ebay. A great start to a great holiday. Barry and Pauline were very friendly and welcoming.

So much thought was put into the place. Loved all the personal touches, especially the welcome basket of goodies in the fridge.

The annex was very confortable, especially the bed. We thought we might be hybernating for the week due to the weather forecast which would have been fine as games and films are provided. As it happened most days were fine and we were able to enjoy the many walks in the surrounding area and trips to the north coast of Somerset. We loved the fact we could enjoy the pigs and chickens they keep in such a tranquil and delightful setting.

The hot tub was relaxing, especially after a long day out.

Had a lovely meal and drink in the local pub (even though they no longer have a micro brewery). Didn't feel like a tourist.

We can definately recommend this cottage.

We stayed at Halse Water for one night on our way down to Cornwall. From the moment we booked, Barry and Pauline were extremely accommodating. We travelled with my husband's parents who had come over from Canada and we have an 18 month old girl. The accommodation layout meant we all had our room (even our toddler - at no extra cost!) but all in one part of the house, making it perfect for families. Barry and Pauline cooked a three course dinner for us on arrival - amazing, tasty food - definitely to restaurant standard. The house itself is beautiful - oozing English charm with fabulous, peaceful scenery - chickens, sheep and very cute piglets nearby! We loved our stay at Halse Water and would definitely recommend this accommodation to others.

Wonderful hosts (Barry and Pauline), a beautiful setting and a picture-book cottage in a lovely village = a perfect getaway to ease away all the worries of modern life.
The local pub the "New Inn" serves very nice food but it may be an idea to book in advance in the busy season and the West Somerset Railway for any steam trrain enthusiasts is just a five minute drive away.
So chill out walking their fields, enjoy the antics of the little pigglies and just listen to rippling of the stream......perfect.

I would like to endorse everything said previously - very special place, beautiful setting, equipped with everything needed and more! Barry and Pauline nearby but not intrusive.
Great area for walking, cycling, and also horse riding, or just relaxing and watching the sheep and lambs grazing contentedly by the stream. A warm welcome and great food served at The New Inn a few yards up the road.
Very accessible canalside/riverside/farmland walks with amazing scenery at Creech St. Michael just the other side of Taunton, which is about 5 miles away. Can also recommend Quantock Trekking riding centre at West Bagborough - horses with personality, friendly staff and great outings on The Quantocks with views across to Minehead.
I've had a wonderfully relaxing escape from a hectic life, slept well too in the very comfortable bed, and met some lovely people!

Our stay was a (very) last minute booking, based mainly on the pictures and price for a short notice booking. We have stayed in lots of self catering accommodation all over the country. This was one of the most peaceful and relaxing places we have ever stayed. The annexe is lovely, cosy and well equipped. The cottage is stunning. But it is the surroundings which I loved. The field and stream at the bottom of the garden, friendly chickens bumbling around and it is so quiet. Barry and Pauline were perfect hosts, literally next door if we needed anything, but giving us the space and freedom to enjoy the beautiful surroundings. A welcome basket of home made bread, cheese, milk and marmalade. Definitely recommended, and we'd love to go back.

Room Tip: Didn't try B+B, but I can only assume that having met Barry and Pauline it would be perfect!
