“Good Location and price”

Great price and location but room was not very nice, it was freezing cold and was in desparate need of decorating and smelt of dampness. Friendly management and great breakfast. Secure parking which is well lit up at night.

"Ideally situated for access to major motorways" I was told- yeah!, about 20ft away from the hard-shoulder of the M62 and a constant stream of heavy commercials and 80mph+ traffic; Hardly an ideal location for a good night's sleep! The inside of the hotel is in a state of disrepair and in urgent need of a comprehensive program of renovation. The rooms are tired and dated, bathrooms; grubby to say the least and the grumpy, curmudgeonly old git on reception certainly could do with a refresher course at charm school! I guess the comparison with Fawlty Towers has been made a thousand times on this web site, but in this instance I think even Basil Fawlty would be amazed by the Tall Trees!

  • Liked — The beatiful views of the west-bound carriageway of the M62
  • Disliked — The objectionable Old Git

Avoid this place,

this is the worst place you can stay, the old git on reception is a very rude and bad mannered person, this is a doss house not a hotel.

Avoid it at all cost

I suspect the reason we have this bad review is because the individual was in point of fact asked to leave due to his unacceptable drunken behaviour. He did indeed end up sleeping in his van

This hotel is plenty of flies, cockroaches, ants and fleas. Shower is always cool and food is revolting. The lady is bad-mannered and racist. The gentle is absolutely disagreeable. If you can avoid it, don't think it twice. You can safe 35 pounds.
