I visited the Premier Inn as part of a school party visiting the Mining Museum and Sculpture Park. We had 29 children in the party aged 7-11 years and 9 adults (three parents and others were my teaching staff). The communication with the hotel prior to the visit was exceptional. They made sure all our needs were met and the children were safely placed in rooms either with their parents or in a corridor surrounded by staff rooms.
The hotel is attached to a fabulous old building with superb facilities and set in a lovely parkland (Thorpe Park).
The restaurant was out of this world. The menu for children and adults was exceptionally good. The staff were attentive and so efficient. The evening meal was perhaps eclipsed by the breakfast-again fantastic staff and so efficent in taking orders (from 29 children!!).
I cannot praise this hotel enough and intend to go back with my own family when I take them to visit the Mining Museum and the Sculpture Park.

Room Tip: Ground floor rooms for preference but all are brilliant

We expected a stay in an ordinary Premier Inn. This was more like staying in a three-star hotel. We had an excellent room. The restaurant was as good as anything we've experienced in a long time. As vegetarians, we had a good choice from the menu. The food itself was first-class. All of the staff were very pleasant and helpful. Nothing seemed to be too much effort.

We were in the area to visit the National Mining Museum and Yorkshire Sculpture Park (2 memorable experiences), and this Premier Inn simply added to the experience.

Stayed one night for a wedding. The room was very clean and the interior was modern. Staff were friendly and polite at the reception. The bed was comfy and the room warm. The breakfast was also good with a choice of cereals and a full English. This was at an extra cost but worth it.

Booked this hotel as we were in Wakefield for a wedding. Arrived about 6 in the evening room was ready and very clean and tidy. Booked breakfast for the morning which was added to my bill. Was staying for two nights and had noticed they had charged me the wrong price for the second night, went straight back to reception and it was sorted straight away with no fuss. The restaurant attached to the hotel is really nice and the service was fast and friendly. There was 20 people at the table and we were served very quickly and the food was hot!!!
The breakfast in the morning was really good self service for a continental and waitress for full english . The grounds are spectacular and we went for a really nice walk before the wedding

I would highly recommend this Hotel

I like Premier Inns because they are simple, clean, well-designed but without waste or extra frills that you don't really want to pay for if you are on a budget. We had a good Yorkshire welcome, directions to the restaurant we had booked and the keys to a confortable room, all for £29 and then a hearty well-cooked breakfast for a further £15 for two, perfect for what we wanted as a basic overnight stay that would not break the bank

Room Tip: We took what we were given but it had a view, which was nice. There is no lift to the first floor so...

Stayed with family for one night in two rooms. Booked on a saver deal so got value for money on the accommodation. Visit was for a party. Tried to eat in the restaurant before going out. Food quality was poor value for money but the service was awful. We were late getting to the party because of the service, over an hour to get sweets.
Next morning the breakfast was worse. Had to find someone at 9am to get seated and juice and other things had run out. Had to get someone to take food order which took ages and was wrong. The food was dry and horrible. Worst food experience ever with many stops in Premier inns. Told reception staff, hope it gets sorted. Will never stay again. Breakfast is usually a good point of staying.
