We've lived in Wakefield for almost 3 years and originally contemplated visiting here, but read many bad reviews.
Since discovering the restaurant is now under new management (Oct 13) and also offering a wider range than just Tapas, we decided to pay them a visit.
First off, it is hard to locate as it's not in the Latino Quarter as you'd expect and is on a small back street at the bottom, the sign doesn't stand out too well either, we actually walked passed twice before spotting it...even phoned them whilst navigating - haha.
Upon arrival we were greeted to a vibrant atmosphere, bright walls, mexican themes, the lot, it was brilliant.
I had a wonderful cocktail - Maya Magic, small but lovely and I'm sure highly calorific too!
The food was incredible; though I'll admit I'd like it hotter. I did ask for my vegetable chilli to be very hot, I was advised not to do this as the chef would make it too hot and go crazy with the spice, so I listened and was assured just 'hot' would be enough. It wasn't though, it was tasty, incredibly so, but didn't reach my desires in terms of heat. I like my chilli properly hot, not just lightly spiced. Regardless my chilli tasted good, the flavours were there.
The chunky wedges...are chunky think 9-10cm height and 4cm diameter..no lie, you get around 5 in a bucket! They taste good, but they are a little large. Next time we'll try the fries.
I really did enjoy this meal, my other half and I will definitely visit again soon.
