Hotel du Vin is located in a very narrow side street off Poole Quay with no obvious parking, but once you get the insider tip that there is a quayside car park practically next door (through the back of the hotel) you're laughing - £4.00 for 24 hours and 100 yards away from the hotel terrace. Anyway, our room was lovely and had its own sun terrace with palms, table and chairs and a high wall all round - like a mediterranean courtyard - very unexpected and welcomed by husband and daughter, who sunbathed all afternoon. Also, just a 2 minute walk to the centre of Poole Quay and the super yacht factory, should you need it.
Brand new Nespresso machine in the room, plus as many capsules as you needed. Also, and very surprisingly, a bottle of wine on the desk which could be purchased for the bargain price of £16.50 (I think), which is very good compared to other, much less luxurious, hotels. A really nice touch.
Bed and pillows very good. Arran Aromatics bath goodies in very large bottles which they encourage you to take away with you.
All in all, a very good hotel with some brilliant touches, that doesn’t rip you off. (Although they do charge for wi-fi )
