“Service and standards slipping”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed June 28, 2013 via mobile

I never thought the hotel was as good as it thought it was. And it was frustrating to see how close it could get to excellence and then mess it up with shoddy service. It is annoying to be given a room where mobile calls are impossible. It is annoying to be in a party of 8 diners and only have two menus. It is annoying to wait fifteen minutes to order breakfast - and then give up when you realise you haven't got time to eat it (that's my fault though for not getting up earlier!). It's annoying not to be given one of my favourite small rooms with a view and to be told I have no right to move as I'm only entitled to a standard room (when in fact a harbour view room had been booked and confirmed), it's annoying when the hotel is used often and regularly by the institution I work with, but this loyalty (misplaced?) is not recognised by its reception staff...and it's really annoying that the phone number on the web doesn't work and you have to get the number from 118118. It's annoying!

Arrived early at Harbour Heights and enjoyed a couple of drinks on the outside decked patio. Fabulous views over Poole Harbour. Enjoyed a meal in the evening and retired to a huge bedroom with settee and armchairs. Enjoyed a lovely jacuzzi bath (remember not to put bubble bath in.) Lovely comfy bed. Had eggs benedict for breakfast (yum yum). Really enjoyed two night stay and would certainly go again.

Top restaurant. We visited all three hotels purely for the restaurants, as renting a house for a weeks holiday. This restaurant was really good, and would stay here next time if in the area. The service was excellent.

Groupon deal- £120 for 2 nights B+B. Tastefully decorated and the decked area to the rear with views over the harbour is not to be missed.
Obviously highly respected amongst the local elite.
The rooms have everything you need and are tasteful and clean, mattress and beds are great and offered a good nights sleep.Breakfast cooked to order.

approx 4 miles into Poole and Bournemouth, Poole Harbour is smart and some great Pubs and restaurants.

Would certainly use again

Room Tip: Room 211 to the side but offered great views, sea views would be good but you are right above the ba...

For a party of nineteen, there was only a single overworked, but willing, waitress, most of the time. In consequence, service not up to 4* standards. Food patchy. Reports of the steak good from those who like it a pointe. Others struggled to eat it. Nobody asked how guests wanted it cooked. Or why reactions were mixed. Bream, which had obviously sat around being kept warm & waiting for the steak and for service, tired. Reports of puddings mixed. Cheese board, actually already plated, meagre and tired.
Views spendid.
Would not choose it again for a large dinner.

Stayed here on business for 3 nights and had a great stay. Pllace is really nice, with great views from the back terrace. Rooms are good standard and the only criticism is the food which is either a la carte or very basic bar menu.

Spent part of the weekend at Harbour Heights hotel Sandbanks Poole Dorset. What can I say it was wonderful. Rooms lovely Food lovely, except my scrambled eggs for breakfast, bit to runny for me. Went to bed looking at seaview and woke up to it. The terrace is great for chilling out with a nice drink. Sandbanks is an amazing place, wish I had a few million to buy a place there. If you want a peaceful weekend this is the place to go. Highly recommend this place. Plan to go back a little later in the year for a bit longer stay

Room Tip: Ask for room with sea view
