“The most amazing gardens you should visit”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 31, 2014

This is one of the highlights of the holiday. These gardens are truly worth a visit, if you are a garden lover. The care and attention that has gone into these gardens are well worth the effort. I would still say my favourite garden is The Japanese Garden, with a close second, The Roman Garden and The Woodland Garden. Pay a visit here, you will love the place.

“outstanding!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 24, 2014

Wow. What a hidden gem. No hint from the main road about what lies behind the hedges. A beautiful italian building is what you see first (a wedding was taking place the day we visited, but only a small part was off limits to visitors).. You walk through a grotto to a stunning landscaped garden with pointed topiary hedges and beautiful flowers. So sensitively put together, this is an inspired team of horticulturalists at work. Then follow a winding path past waterfalls, heather, bamboo, a tranquil memorial garden, then on to the oriental garden with koi Karp, pagodas, dragons, stepping stones. Absolutely stunning. Well worth the £8 entrance fee. I'd pay double to see all this. Imagine the Chelsea flower show without all the annoying people!! There are two delightful cafes, two shops and an impressive array of plants, very reasonably priced. Cannot recommend this place enough. I want to go back!!

“Spectacular day out surrounded by beauty”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 21, 2014

Went with my family yesterday in gorgeous sunshine. Whilst the car park is on the small side especially for disabled parking, the ticket office could not gave been more helpful or accommodating in meeting the needs of one of our party. The gardens, villa, sculptures and setting where delightful, vibrant colour and surprise around every corner, we had a lovely time. Cafe very busy so we didn't lunch.

“Going downhill”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed August 20, 2014 via mobile

My wife and me live in the Poole area and have visited many times over 30yrs. We were disappointed to find the Japanese garden in very poor condition. White scum covered 75% of the pond, the Japanese house roped off because the decking is not maintained. The koi are now English carp, not Japanese like yrs ago. Other visitors on the day commented in a similar fashion, as they viewed the garden too. On the plus side the rock garden is lovely. The italian garden is nice and obviously kept up together for commercial reasons. I would suggest maintaining all the gardens, not just two. Overall 6/10

“needs a freshen up”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed August 19, 2014

Came here on a special offer for local residents. It's looking a bit dated now, with crazy paving and azaleas. Not fantastic for buggies but my daughter enjoyed exploring for a couple of hours.
