We were given a hearty welcome by the landlady who has a great sence of humour.
The guesthouse is situated within easy reach to the center. We were staying in a twin room with an en-suite bathroom.
The colours and the furnishing make this place very pleasant to stay in. The full English breakfast is the best ever.
By the way you can expect an absolutely tailor-made service.

I recently spent a couple of days at this guesthouse whilst in the Poole area. I would never usually choose a B&B being more a 4 /5* hotel woman (see my other reviews!!) however this was highly recommended by a colleague and it didnt disapoint. The accomadation was bright airy and clean. Room was comfy & spotless with good quality linen and bathroom products. Apparently the new landlady has been hard at work redecorating & doing it up and it has certainly paid off. The landlady Yvonne is a gem & her daughter adorable. Yvonne was very knowledgeable about the area (shame i was on business not pleasure!) & helpful with all manner of directions & logistics for me etc. The breakfast was actually the highlight of my stay and would give any 4 / 5 * hotel a run for its money. Fabulous choice of cereals, fruit & yogurt, great coffee, delicious english breakfast cooked to order. If your visiting Poole then this is certainly the place to stay for quality & value, i will certainly return if im in the area.

We are just back from a stay at the Mariners Hotel in Poole. We found this by accident one night driving round in a panic trying to find somewhere at 11 oclock at night in the dark and the rain before getting the 6am ferry to Jersey.
After banging on the door, this wonderful cheerful little lady took us in, and by the time we had hauled all our stuff in and got settled it was nearly midnight.
We were starving and asked where we could get a take away from, and to our amazement she bustled off, asking if we ate Bacon and appeared half an hour later with a huge tray of steaming hot tea and a pile of bacon, lettuce and tomatoe sandwiches. About 4 each !!!! They were absolutely delicious, and tasted the best in the world. And all at midnight.
Nothing was too much trouble, and when we said we had to be away at 5am in the morning.................are you ready for this..........she got up and cooked us breakfast.
If i could award this lady a gold star for most helpful owner in Britain I would do it.
The place was bright and cheerful, spotlessly clean and obviously the pride of her life as she showed us round at 1 in the morning. Pretty clean breakfast room, nice communal areas and a lovely clean bright bedroom. We even offered to sleep on the bed as it was a shame to mess it up for 4 hours, and she would not hear of it. In this day and age can you imagine anyone being so kind and helpful.
We had a stunning breakfast, and she did the best poached eggs all fluffy and nice.
I cannot reccommend this place highly enough, and to make us bacon sarnies at midnight was above and beyond the call of duty.
And the piece de resistance...........she didnt even charge us for them saying it was a good turn and goodness always comes back on you.
What a little star, all 5 ft of her. Well done Mariners Hotel, one million out of a hundred to you. xx

Room Tip: All the rooms are spotless and clean and cheerful. This lady believes in good karma and will do her...

We stayed at this welcomming guest house as we had a reunion in Poole/Bournemouth area. The room and communal facilitiies were spotlessly clean.Their were refreshements in our room which were replenished each day without requesting. The breakfast options were of good variety, (the cereal and fruits form me) and the cooked breakfast was excellent ( according to my partner to whom his cooked breakfast is of upmost importance!) The atmosphere was very friendly and relaxed and the landlady Yvonne was most helpful and knowledgeable even though she informed us she was relativley new to the area. The location was perfect for us as it is within walking distance of Poole Centre for shopping and the harbour, also the bus station and bus/car routes to Bournemouth. The location is on a main road, however, there was limited traffic noise early morning and in the evening. The beaches were close by, although not within walking distance only a short drive away, or on bus route so could leave our car in the parking available. Would definitely stay again and recommend to family/friends visiting the area.

Where to start! Lovely Landlady, very welcoming, excellent location. Absolutely the most delicious breakfast - excellent choice! Dining room has been recently re-decorated a lovely friendly atmosphere. My friend and I had a lovely 5 night stay. Yvonne Donaghue the landlady suggested lot of things for us to do. It was only a short walk to the lovely park and close to lots of local amenities. Excellent value too as so close to Sandbanks - we loved looking at all the wonderful houses. We felt at home straight away and the rooms were tastefully decorated with lots of little extra homely touches. We have recommended this b&b to lots of our friends and hope to stay there ourselves again next year.

I stayed at the Mariners for 4 nights and the accommodation was wonderful, very clean and bright, freshly painted and I felt right at home. The breakfasts was one of the highlight of my stay with Yvonne's freshly cooked full English breakfast, cooked to order, with a choice of fresh fruit, cereals and natural yoghurt. We where made to feel right at home and Yvonne's knowledge of the local area helped us explore some amazing sights in the area.

We were delighted with our stay in this comfy friendly B+B, great location for walking into poole town so no need to use your vehicle and avoided costly busy car parks. Our room was perfect and had everything we needed for a restful sleep, there was a good menu choice for breakfast and we were both very pleased with our chosen selections. The landland was most welcoming easy to chat to and very helpful with local knowledge of the area. All in all a great time was had, our only grumble would be we did not stay long enough and so we look forwards to visiting The Mariners and Poole again very soon.
