We visited Quayside for a midweek family lunch. We didn't need to book, no really, we didn't need to book at all. We arrived to a completely empty restaurant except for one lone drinker (who sounded like he had emphysema). It's a great location and with a window seat it's a great place to people watch.
The decor is fashionably "urban" but it's nicely done - although I can imagine when (if) it gets busy the acoustics are awful. The service was fine, but a little offhand at times.
The menu was excellent and the food was great. Good quality ingredients and well presented. It's certainly not cheap - but it's not outrageously expensive. On the Waterfront it's between pizza Express and the Salthouse Harbour in terms of cuisine, price and geography.
We left two hours after we arrived and were relieved to see that two, yes two, other tables were now occupied. It's a shame really because this is a nice place with good food and a great location.
