“Quiet lunch on a Wednesday”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed April 14, 2013 via mobile

We visited Quayside for a midweek family lunch. We didn't need to book, no really, we didn't need to book at all. We arrived to a completely empty restaurant except for one lone drinker (who sounded like he had emphysema). It's a great location and with a window seat it's a great place to people watch.

The decor is fashionably "urban" but it's nicely done - although I can imagine when (if) it gets busy the acoustics are awful. The service was fine, but a little offhand at times.

The menu was excellent and the food was great. Good quality ingredients and well presented. It's certainly not cheap - but it's not outrageously expensive. On the Waterfront it's between pizza Express and the Salthouse Harbour in terms of cuisine, price and geography.

We left two hours after we arrived and were relieved to see that two, yes two, other tables were now occupied. It's a shame really because this is a nice place with good food and a great location.

“Fantastic Meal!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 9, 2013

We went here Sunday evening. Ideal location on the waterside. Families welcome and a warm welcome from the staff. Lots to choose from on the Menu. Childrens homemade menu also. We had the set menu of mains and dessert. WoW! chicken pasta yumyum! Sausage and mustard mash delicous. Our children enjoyed the chicken goujons and chips. The desserts were out of this world sooo nice. Credit to the chef/s for delicous food and prompt cooking of food, plus the excellent service from the staff. We will be returning the very near future.

“Impromptu visit”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed April 7, 2013

We managed to get a table reservation for four on Easter Saturday with only an hours notice which I thought wasnt a good omen. However, we were very pleasantly surprised. Service was good, food was excellent, I had the monk fish goujons off the specials board. One of our group had the lamb cutlets and although tasty half of them unfortunately were mostly fat. The duty manager came over and without hesitation he agreed to cancel the dish off the tab which was great. It is a bit noisy but the atmosphere was good and it didnt spoil our evening.

We ended up having dinner here on easter weekend because we hadn't booked anything. We were pleasantly surprised. The food was good and the service as well.
