“Exceptionally nice”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 22, 2011

My friend and I spent 4 nights at the Clontarf to catch up with each other and catch some sea air too. The Clontarf is in a great location providing you with the West Shore on your doorstep and a nice gentle stroll to the more well-known promenade - weather permitting that is. We tackled said stroll in a blustery down-pour, which was fun! There are also two other fabulous walks straight from the door - one round the (bottom of) the Great Orme and one to Conwy.

We really enjoyed our stay at the Clontarf. The owners Joni and Mark couldn't be more helpful. They are both really friendly and genuine with it - as are the other staff too. In fact all the guests were friendly as well - it's that kind of place!

The rooms are all very well appointed with flat screen TVs, a good tea-tray, and fabulous en-suites with L'Occitane toiletries. And they are reasonably priced too. The lounge and dining room are both lovely and the food and service surpass expectations.

What's really refreshing about the Clontarf - which of course is down to the owners - is flexibility. Another friend decided to join us for a night and Joni and Mark allocated one of their large luxury doubles for single occupancy as it was the only room left. Not many other places would be so accommodating.

Hats off to Joni and Mark!

...Well maybe you should keep your hat on if it's raining....

Room Tip: Enchanted is enchanting!

This was our second visit to the Clontarf and it certainly lived up to our expectations from last year. Lovely rooms; menu and food are excellent. Joni, Mark and staff are really friendly and helpful. The hotel has a good location for us in a quiet road near to the West Shore. We had no problems parking the car. We're looking forward to our next visit to the Clontarf.

This confirmed our memories that the Clontarf is excellent throughout. The bedrooms are very spacious with individually designed en-suites. The food is of a very high standard with lots of variety. From Joni, Mark and the staff nothing is too much trouble. Very relaxing and will definitely return soon. The location is 2 minutes from the west beach with amazing views all around.

From walking into the hotel to check-in the hosts were so friendly and welcoming. The hotel was spotlessly clean and the bedroom was so relaxing. The staff were very friendly and chatty a credit to the Clontarf.
The food was excellent and very reasonably priced.
The location was great a very short walk to the beach.
Nothing was too much trouble for Joni and Mark so it was easy to see why this hotel has such good reviews,
Looking forward to our next visit

We booked a 4 night stay at the Clontarf dinner B+B and were not disappointed. On our arrival although extremely busy , Joni found the time to make us a pot of coffee and have a chat.We chose the premier luxury room and were delighted with it,very clean spacious and airy.Very comfortable beds .Mark made the breakfast in the mornings and Joni made the dinner in the evening, Thee food was delicious. Nothing ever seemed to be a bother to them, what a genuine and friendly couple .We loved this hotel and will return the next time we visit Llandudno.

Our first visit, but not our last - the welcome was genuine and warm, we were impressed by the food, information was plentiful and relevant, direct and clear, and the West Shore, which we had not visited before, was scenic and restful. The short walk (10 minutes by the road, 15 by the Orme hill path) into Llandudno Town and the main North Shore promenade was enjoyable and relaxing. Nothing is too much trouble for the hosts, Joni and Mark.
