“beautiful scenery”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 5, 2012

The panoramic views from the summit are outstanding and not to be missed. A trip on the tram or cable car is probably the best way to travel up as the road is very steep and narrow.

“The Magnificent Great Orme”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 5, 2012

It was a foggy day when we took the Cable Tram up to the top of the Great Orme recently. The fog created an eerie atmosphere but also made the tram trip quite thrilling. And then, just as we had decided that we couldn't see far enough to risk walking down the hill, the fog lifted and we were thrilled to have the most wonderful views over Llandudno and the ocean. We walked down the well-signposted paths, passing the quaint St. Tudno's Church, built in the 12th century, and the graveyard, crossing fields with sheep grazing, all the time seeing the most glorious views. And then we came upon the famous Kashmiri goats of Great Orme, roaming on the rocky crags and were thrilled to see so many of them, obviously thriving in their beautiful surroundings. The following day, we drove around the base of the Great Orme which was also spectacular and we saw the goats again, this time on the precariously narrow pathways on the headland leading down to the sea. I imagine it would be hard to tire of this place and we were disappointed that we had to leave without taking some more enjoyable walks. Don't miss the Great Orme.

“Great Orme Circuit”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 5, 2012

Am a fairly regular visiror to Llandudno and have driven the Marine Drive (£2.50 for cars; free for pedestrians) a few times (also watched the RAC rally there in the 70's with Lancia Stratoses and Audi Quattros but that is another story). Anyway, the pier was closed today (in preparation for Nov 5th fireworks apparently), so walked the Marine Drive then back from the West Beach to the pier instead. Absolutely superb! People rock climbing, fulmars and comorants, and a kestrel flying past, wild goats everywhere, superb views across Llandudno bay and the Conwy estuary and perfect weather. Strongly recommended if the weather is good (quiet as very few cars off season). Might be even better reversing the route so will try that next time...

Good paths all the way from Church Walks to the summit. It's a steady climb but woth it for the rewarding views.
