I'm afraid I have to echo the other review of The Captain's Table, with the setting and building this could be a really remarkable place or even a proper restaurant - the views in all weathers are amazing and it oozes quirky charm.
The building itself is tired, the food is ok, not stellar definitely on par with school dinners, but the choice, the price and the layout are dismal. The decor and layout is awful and you can imagine it being really unpleasant in crowds / hot weather. It’s not worth the money, two of us ate (Sausage & chips, sausage roll, two muffins and two cups of coffee = £17) and honestly, Morrison’s Cafe does better in terms of food and price. The staff were helpful and polite and the problems are not their fault.
If you have to get a coffee on a cold day, make it just that or bring a flask. It’s even more of let down since the Tramway is so great!
