“Well worth the money”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed April 26, 2013

Plenty of good hot food, plenty of choice, carvery style, empty trays replaced very quickly. Room 438 - good view over the bay, clean. Staff cheerful, except for the reception staff who I felt were very rude and short tempered. Downside of the stay - one lift was out of order 4 days out of the 5 and on Wednesday night there were no lifts at all for about 4 hours - very distressing to see wheelchair bound guests stranded. Corridors very noisy - squeaky floorboards and thin walls but fantastic value for money.

Room Tip: 438 lovely views across bays with doors to terrace.

Me and my boyfriend chose to get away for one night (21/04/13). Unfortunately, we had chosen to look at trip advisor before leaving, and the negative reviews defiantly had us anticipating the worst before we got there. The reception staff were happy and helpful and the initial view when we walked into the entrance hall was lovely! They have a little quiet room you can pop your bags in if your not ready to check in immediately. Check in was fast and we were presented with an envelope full of leaflets and information which we found so useful!! We were on a package with dinner, a bottle of wine, breakfast and bed. Dinner was fine, buffet style help yourself however as it was a Sunday we were limited to a Sunday dinner for main, which was no problem at all! Pudding was amazing! The evening we had entertainment and drank from the reasonably priced bar, a pint of Carlsberg is about £3.00. Breakfast was amazing!! Just what we needed and plenty of choice. The room we were in was fine for what we needed. Nice and clean, comfy bed and a little tv. The 3 downsides to the room were only minor, there was no hair dryer in the room which I had expected and not brought mine, there were no biscuits to go with our tea! And as we had a balcony, it was it up with a floodlight, so room didn't go very dark at night!! All in all we think this hotel is just delightful. The views are spectacular, even if there were any minor faults with the room, you were distracted by the scenery! The hotel is also perfectly situated right next to the pier and the great orme which worked really well. We are already planning are next visit and hoping to do longer than 1 night. This is a traditional old hotel, which can't and shouldn't be compared to more modern hotels. Fantastic value, fantastic hotel, fantastic views and a brilliant time!!!

After reading a few of the reviews on this hotel I think it's about time I left my own.

My partner and I stayed in this 'hotel' in June last year for 2 nights.

We booked a 'Superior Room' with a sea view.

The view was amazing as we could see right across the sea, but how the hotel could describe our room as superior is beyond me. We were right at the very top of the hotel with 2 tiny windows, one of which was the bedroom window, the other was the bathroom.

To access our room we had to take a tiny rickety lift to the top floor which could barley house 2 people and 2 suitcases. Upon exiting the lift we had to go down a narrow corridor to reach our room. The corridor was obstructed by the linen trolleys which were not even lined up against he wall, which is a major fire hazard

The bedroom carpet was dirty and stained, there were what I can only describe as mold spots on the shower curtain in the bathroom. The bedding wasn't as clean as it could be, there were wires/cables taped up, the bedside lamp was broken and the TV was the size of a postage stamp, you could barely see it from sitting/lying on the bed.

Each moment spent in that room was miserable, we tried to be out of the hotel more than we were in it.

It is definitely safe to say we will NOT be returning to this hotel - EVER.

My wife and i enjoyed a themed 60's weekend break, upgraded to premier well worth the extra money.
Good food in the buffet type carvery not a lot of choice but plenty of it. Rooms basic but clean and comfortable. Staff pleasant and helpful, all in all a good relaxing weekend.Hotel like LLandudno getting on a bit in need of upgrading but very welcoming, will definitely be back again.

Room Tip: worth paying extra for a sea view

Party of 4 of us went overnight. When we arrived we went o see if we could leave our cases and the receptionist gave us our key cards and vouchers for lunch and 2 free drinks each from the bar. Lunch was lovely my partner had a very substantial fish and chips and I had a scrumptious cream tea. Our room was exceptionally clean and had a stunning view of the pier and bay. We had a table in the premier dining room for our evening meal and breakfast and the food and service were lovely. The evening entertainment was ok but be warned if you want to join in the bingo the ticket sales finish about an hour before the game starts and it's quite boring sitting through it if you're not participating. All in all a lovely trip which I will be repeating in the near future

We booked to stay in room 224, although we chose not to even stay. Upon arrival we were greeted at reception and handed our room pass and told our room was on the 2nd floor, but no direction given as to where to go to find the room. But once we got to the room I was shocked. There was nothing modern about it. It was like walking into a 1960's room. The first thing I noticed was appeared to be a blood stain on the bedcovers. I went into the bathroom to find missing tiles in the roof, No shower facilities, and mould around the edge of the bath. The smell of the room was unpleasant. The list goes on. Dirty spoons in the tea cups. Dirty stains on the floor. Wind howling through the doors. You hear every movement with every floor board creaking. We sat and contemplated what to do and chose to leave the room and seek somewhere else to stay. This will be somewhere I will never return to or ever advise anyone to go to. There are plenty of places in the area for the same value with far superior standards. Keep away from this place for your own health!!
