“Gathering 2014”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed February 3, 2014

Just returned from a lovely three day stay for the gathering in Llandudno. We cannot fault this guest house, the wonderful friendly people who own it are Sarah and Berin, they cannot do enough to make sure you have a pleasant stay. Lovely cooked breakfast , warm and cosy rooms with tea and coffee making facilities, nice bathrooms and comfy beds. The guest house is in a prime position, just cross the road and walk down the side street which brings you right out at weatherspoons pub. Look forward to returning next year.

Hi there guys,
Thank you so much for your very kind words which mean a lot to us. We love doing what we do and strive to ensure that everyone's stay is what they want it to be, so hearing that once again we have managed to help your visit for The Gathering all the more special, gives us great pleasure.
Returning guests are very important to us as it says that what we do is everything you want and is done at a price that you feel is reflective of the stay you have enjoyed, so knowing that you intend to return again for next years event makes it all worthwhile.
Our location is as you say very close to all that you would want to do when staying at Llandudno, but far enough away so as not to be disturbed by the hustle and bustle of a thriving town. We are blessed with so many great events taking place throughout the year in the Venue Cymru as well as all across the town and guests who visit for these are often inspired to return just to experience the town rather than for a specific event.
Breakfast is often regarded as a special part of the stay with us, and knowing that the quality of the rooms and what we supply to our guests is equally as valued means a lot so thank you.

We look forward to seeing you for the next Gathering or even sooner.

Sarah and Berin :-) x

My wife and I visited the Glascoed Guest House for two nights in late January, 2014. If we had known how pleasant the experience was going to be, we would have scheduled a longer stay. The Glascoed is located in Llandudno on the northern coast of Wales just a five-minute walk from the main business section and 15 minutes from the train station. This is a modest B&B which is kept clean, neat, and attractive. As a lodging facility it deserves a high rating, but the key ingredient that made our visit so noteworthy was the unique warm hospitality displayed by the owners, Berin & Sarah Jones. This was hospitality at its finest. From the moment we entered the building until the morning we left we felt as if Berin & Sarah served us in a very caring, personal way. They made us feel as if we were the most important guests in the house. Friendliness, helpfulness, extensive travel information for the surrounding area, smiles galore - attention to every detail. I had read when selecting this B&B that the Joneses were a family-owned operation. Any skepticism one may have had about their sincerity was instantly dispelled when Berin & Sarah's two wonderful teenage sons also joined in making our stay most pleasant through helping with our luggage and offering sightseeing tips for the area as well as advice on how to use the Wi-Fi. Regarding the two breakfasts we enjoyed, they were prepared with our personal preferences taken into consideration and manifested the best qualities of a fine Welsh breakfast. In short, because of this wonderful experience we hope to return to this area of Wales in the future and would certainly recommend the Glascoed House to anyone else interested in this area of the UK.

Room Tip: We were assigned initially to a room for two, but were offered a more spacious alternative when Sara...

Thank you For the very kind words you have said. We were delighted to meet you both during your visit and love doing what we do so I guess the smiles come easily so it's nice to hear they helped make your stay more enjoyable.
We are proud of the way our two sons interact with and help guests when staying with us and they enjoy doing it just as much. Living in such a beautiful area; with such a vast array of things that can be done to explore and enjoy the wonderful Scenery and culture of North Wales; it is easy to forget that guests are only staying a couple of days and overload them with all the things there are to do and see, so we were delighted when you changed your travel plans to stay an extra day with us and hope that you have been inspired to return next year when you come to the Uk on business.
As a guest house we do not have the range of facilities that you will find in a large hotel but we can and hopefully do, provide a far better homely feel for your stay and a personal touch not found in all locations.
We were delighted to hear that you enjoyed our breakfasts so much. We are really blessed to have some great producers locally and only source our ingredients from them. It's not necessarily the cheapest option but we believe quality is more important and supporting local producers is easy when they produce such great products.
It was a shame that you were unable to visit Berins choir rehearsal during your stay but hopefully next time it will be a Sunday or Wednesday and you will be able to experience this element of Welsh culture as well.
We hope your summer camp goes well this year and greatly look forward to welcoming you back.
Berin and Sarah :-)

Thank you Diane for taking the time to write a review for us and for choosing to stay with us. Trip advisor reviews are so important to travellers when choosing a location to stay after the long hard working week and when you have a specific reason to need to be in a town such as The Gathering, it is important that you get what you expect. So we are very pleased that you, your husband and two boys enjoyed staying with us and room 9 is perfectly designed to allow a family to have the right amount of personal space yet be together and is very popular with families with children over 10 yrs. A good nights sleep, good food made from great local ingredients and a warm, clean room are what we believe are the essential ingredients for a happy stay and so we are very pleased we delivered these for you on your visit and delivered great hospitality that has lead to you have deciding to make us your place of stay for The Gathering next year. We look forward greatly to your return.
Fondest wishes Sarah and Berin :-))

Thank you Colin for taking the time to write a review for us on Tripadvisor. Up to the minute reviews are so important for travellers when deciding where to stay on a well earned break.
We are very pleased that our standard of customer service and hospitality has left you with a favourable impression of us as we love what we are doing and take pride in looking after our guests needs whatever the reason for their stay. Nothing is too much trouble for us in ensuring you have a warm comfortable stay in a clean establishment with great food made from local ingredients and providing a real feel of Wales during your visit. As a Welshman it is important to my husband that guests leave with a positive impression of they're time in Wales as we have a wonderful town in a wonderful area.
The fact that as a group you chose to stay with us again this year means a lot to us as we constantly strive to improve our business and that you noted the changes we have made since last year to improve the standard of what you receive tells us that these changes are well received. We greatly look forward to seeing you all again next year for The Gathering and hopefully there will be a Rugby international on as well!!
Fondest wishes. Sarah and Berin :-)) !

Just returned from a fabulous weekend break in Sarah and Berins lovely B&B in Llandudno. Our room was spacious and clean and the bed was huge and so comfortable! The breakfast was one of the best we have had in any B&B and it was served by our singing host Berin(with his male voice choir playing gently in the background!) We have really enjoyed our stay and will definitely be returning.

I'm so pleased you enjoyed your stay with us, and that you enjoyed room 5 which has only just come back into service after having a full refurbishment.

Berin is over the moon you enjoyed his singing, and listening to his choir at breakfast, I'm struggling to get him through the door now :-)

Thank you for taking the time to do a review on Tripadvisor we really appreciate this.

We hopefully look forward to a return visit.
Many thanks
Sarah
