The staff were as helpful as they could be when I found my room had no heating - in December! But my letters to their managers at the Chapman Group, who own RelaxInnz, went unanswered.
Just before 9pm I went to reception to report that there was no heating in my room, 201. The reception desk was staffed by a very courteous man, but he failed to make the radiator work or to find me an alternative heater. The heater he brought blew a fuse as soon as he plugged it in. By this time I was feeling really cold from sitting in a room without heating.
It took until nearly 11pm to determine that there was no room available in which the heating was functioning, but that moving to the room below (101) might be more comfortable as there would perhaps be some warmth coming up from the ground floor. I accepted this change, with an extra quilt, because it was late - but I did not notice until I had moved that the toilet seat in this room was broken.
Had it been earlier in the evening I would have been prepared to move to another hotel. But I certainly expected some response from my three very polite letters to the Chapman Group that owns the RelaxInnz hotels. I will avoid staying in this or any of their other properties.
