The Gladwyn Hotel is a true gem in Eastbourne. The interior is absolutely lovely and each room is decorated in another style. We stayed for 3 nights in the Beijing Room. The room itself wasn't really that big, but was still very lovely and I loved the paintings on the wall. There was a TV and DVD player, as well as tea and coffe making facilities.

The bathroom was extremely clean and had a nice bathtub. They provide complimentary toiletries which is great.

The breakfast was really nice and Gary made sure everyone was happy.
The accommodation is situated only a short walk from the seafront and pier (about 5 minutes walk). Restaurants and the town centre are also in easy walking distance.

I was so glad to have stayed in the Gladwyn when I saw all the horrible hotels at the seafront.

So whenever you go to Eastbourne, make sure you stay at The Gladwyn Hotel. Really lovely with a personal touch that can't be found easily anywhere else.

“Outstanding place to relax- nothing too much trouble”

Gladwyn Hotel

Mar 25, 2008

My wife and I just returned from a 3 night stay over Easter at the Gladwyn in Eastbourne. I have stayed in dozens of hotels, guest houses and B+B's over the years and this is the best one I've ever stayed in.
The guys who run the place have created a hotel which feels like staying in someones home- very relaxed and at the same time, providing everything and anything that a person could want.
The room was large, bed very comfortable, brightly decorated, with a TV and DVD player. After long and beautiful walks in the area during the days, we appreciated having a large selection of DVD's to select from, for evening viewing- kindly provided along with extensive books and information about places to dine and things to do in the area.
Breakfast was excellent- a full range of cereals, juices, hot selections and delicious coffee. Just about anything you could want was available and served up beautifully.
I cannot think of anything that could be done to improve upon the level of comfort that is provided at this hotel.
We hope to be able to return in the near future!
Thanks again! Robert

“I'll be back!”

Gladwyn Hotel

Jan 30, 2008

Spent a short break with my better half at The Gladwyn in January. Booked the room through their website - with no problems. I got an e-mail with confirmation shortly after. The hotel is perfectly located halfway between the railway station and seafront. All the rooms are different - we stayed in the Oriental room. The room itself was spacious enough, and everything was spotlessly clean.

The service was brilliant, and the staff very helpful. What really made the stay was the breakfast - up there among the best I've come across in any hotel regardless of price or rating!

We felt very welcome, and will surely choose the Gladwyn again on our next visit to Eastbourne.

“Enjoyed my stay at The Gladwyn”

I decided I needed a well earned break, normally, I stay in Brighton, but decided I wanted a change. I rang the hotel up and spoke to the manager Frank. I booked in for 4 nights and when I asked did they want a deposit he said no that's ok. Another surprise they gave me a double room to myself at no extra cost! I had room 2 which was the pre-raphaelite room, a very comfy bed, very clean feel. My room was on the ground floor which is handy if you have walking problems.
Next the breakfast, all I can say filling and very nice! You can also help yourself to cereals, prunes and grapefruit, plus juices.
Breakfast is from 8-9.30am, this breakfast kept me going well beyond lunch time. The staff friendly and Paul the owner was very pleasant so too was Frank and the young lady who served breakfast. The location of the hotel is good as it's less than a 10 minute walk from Eastbourne Station. So too is the town centre and seafront.
I will visit this hotel again next year and wish more hotels had this standard!

“Quite simply "Excellent all round!"”

Gladwyn Hotel

Oct 4, 2007

I recently had the pleasure of staying at The Gladwyn Hotel for the third time this year.

The staff are friendly, helpful and always willing to go the extra mile to ensure that your stay is as enjoyable as possible.

The rooms are squeaky clean and beautifully appointed with various themes which makes a nice change to all the clinical, uniform-looking rooms found in other hotels.

Breakfast is superb - probably the best I've ever had the pleasure of eating and it was wonderful to have a selection of flavoured teas available.

I would highly recommend The Gladwyn - I shall most certainly be staying there again!
