I decided I needed a well earned break, normally, I stay in Brighton, but decided I wanted a change. I rang the hotel up and spoke to the manager Frank. I booked in for 4 nights and when I asked did they want a deposit he said no that's ok. Another surprise they gave me a double room to myself at no extra cost! I had room 2 which was the pre-raphaelite room, a very comfy bed,very clean feel. My room was on the ground floor which is handy if you have walking problems.
Next the breakfast, all I can say filling and very nice! You can also help yourself to cereals,prunes and grapefruit, plus juices.
Breakfast is from 8-9.30am, this breakfast kept me going well beyond lunch time. The staff friendly and Paul the owner was very pleasant so too was Frank and the young lady who served breakfast. The location of the hotel is good as it's less than a 10 minute walk from Eastbourne Station. So too is the town centre and seafront.
I will visit this hotel again next year and wish more hotels had this standard!

I recently had the pleasure of staying at The Gladwyn Hotel for the third time this year.

The staff are friendly, helpful and always willing to go the extra mile to ensure that your stay is as enjoyable as possible.

The rooms are squeaky clean and beautifully appointed with various themes which makes a nice change to all the clinical, uniform-looking rooms found in other hotels.

Breakfast is superb - probably the best I've ever had the pleasure of eating and it was wonderful to have a selection of flavoured teas available.

I would highly recommend The Gladwyn - I shall most certainly be staying there again!

First time to eastbourne, and was delighted with firstly the area, which is great for history buffs abd people with children 3-13, so much for them in the locale. As for the hotel we really enjoyed it, everyone really friendly and in an excellent location. The breakfast room and the breakfasts are superb, as is the service. The lounge is excellent with a small bar (help yourself and write a note) if no one is around, and there is a superb collection of dvd's if you fancy an evening in. One note of caution if you have one of the family rooms, have a dodgy leg and smoke, you'll be worn out as they are at the top of the building! So might be a good time to quit. All in all a great experience and we will certainly go back and have already recommended to friends who say they will visit shortly.

Stayed here last week on business cos of the proximity to our job. It was the first time I'd stayed in a B&B in 10 years and it was an unusual experience for a business traveller. It was very good value and efficient at checkin and checkout and very well positioned for the town. Plenty of on street parking outside also in the evenings. I stayed in the Moroccan room that was the best room and it was acceptable with a small LCD TV and DVD player which was good, it had recently been decorated, but the shower was cold mainly. Everything was spotless throughout.. My colleague had a room with a toilet outside the bedroom main door.....although his shower was in the bedroom !....Overall I would recommend this a s great B&B for frequent B&B travellers, but business people make sure you get the moroccan room
