“Easy into Eastbourne”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed July 2, 2013

Very well situated in the town. Easy to access all the amenities. Hotel was clean, staff helpful & buffet breakfast was good. Our double room could have been larger, but most rooms here do have a sea view which was nice. Bar, reception & dining room really well laid - out on ground floor at front of hotel. Finally, if travelling by car, the Cavendish has an excellent secure car park at the rear of hotel.

Location was perfect. Close to Buckingham Palace, theaters and two tube stops (Picadilly and Green Park). Biggest negative: free wifi in 2 ground floors but they charge you for wifi use in your room!! Seems very odd and very aggravating if you are trying to save on data charges!

My Sister and Brother in Law have just spent four days at the Cavendish and we have spent those days taking lunch and enjoying the facilities with them. They had a beautiful room with all facilities provided and the attention to detail was impressive, towels were changed very regularily as was the bedding and there were tea & coffee making facilities in the room. There was also complimentary bottled water and biscuits. For those who needed a large plasma TV was also in the room. My husband and I joined them just after 11am each day and, even though I am in a wheelchair the access was easy. Food was delightful as was the service. There was live entertainment on Wednesday evening which was great. There is the library for those who prefer tranquility. It is very clean and a delight to be there. In fact we have booked for Sunday luncheon for a treat.

Room Tip: Many rooms have a lovely seafront view

My husband and I had planned a special break to celebrate an anniversary and were disappointed that our room wasn't ready when we arrived at 2pm, as we'd had a long drive. We went away for an hour and came back.....still the room wasn't ready. I started to feel a bit 'miffed' by now and we were immediately offered another room.
Room very plain, again felt a bit disappointed in view of the money I had paid, however the sea view was amazing, my husband and I loved it. I think the car parking arrangements are a bit steep, but this seems to be what's happening at most hotels these days.
Breakfast was delicious....we were spoilt for choice, and it was all yummy. Staff were all very friendly and helpful.
If my friends were looking for something special I would recommend the Cavendish hotel to them

Room Tip: Sea view a must...worth the extra

Stayed here for only one night but wished it had been longer. The hotel is on the sea front at Eastbourne and we booked 2 sea view rooms. We loved the rooms and the full English breakfast. Would definitely stay again if in the area. Actually were undecided between the Grand and the Cavendish but after a cocktail at the Grand (which is lovely, if a little stuffy), we were glad we chose the Cavendish.

Room Tip: Sea view all the way

Booked a spur of the moment trip to The Cavendish Hotel on a dinner, bed & breakfast deal and enjoyed every moment of our stay in Eastbourne. The reception staff were very welcoming and helpful. Our room on the third floor overlooked the sea, was spacious and very clean. The decor and furniture are a bit bland but sitting enjoying the great view with a cup of tea after a long udrive more than made up for this. The three course meal (& coffee) included in the package was excellent and the service in the dining room was efficient & friendly. Breakfast was also very good especially as we didn't sit down until 9.45 with service finishing at 10. My only criticism would be that the rooms are very warm and although there was a fan & we were able to open the window, it made for a rather warm nights sleep! All in all we would certainly stay there again.
