“Great stay”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 11, 2012

Everything about our stay was great. Susan and her mother were lovely. The double room we booked was very nice, clean and it also had charm. We arrived early for our 2 day stay at about 11 o clock. The rooms were ready for us, so we were allowed to check in straight away. Parking was free and we managed to park right outside.

The breakfast was very good with a choice of hot foods and also Cereals. The hot was all freshly cooked to order. Eggs, bacon, beans, tomatoes, sausage.

The little town that is close by was very good. There were 2 great pubs. The Ship and the Pilot. We hate in both places and they were good value and good quality.

I would recomend Beachy Rise and i hope to return there myself.

We were met by Susan who was a most wonderful host! The B&B was a quick taxi ride from the train station. We had two rooms, a double that was spacious and contained everything required, including charm! and a single with a bath which was also lovely. There were quite a number of stairs (two flights) to the rooms we were in, so heavy bags could be a problem for some. The breakfast in the morning was great. Susan was helpful in all ways. It was a really beautiful place to stay, peaceful and nostalgic.

Beachy Rise is perfectly situated for the start or end of the South Downs Way in a quiet residential road close to pubs and shops (we ate at the Ship Inn - very good). It is one of the nicest B&Bs we have ever stayed in. Susanne gave us a warm welcome when we turned up soaking wet on our last day of the South Downs Way. Our room was very comfortable, clean and well equiped as was the en-suite bathroom. There was a friendly, relaxed atmosphere. Breakfast was nicely presented and plentiful with a good variety of food and great service. There is also a garden which guests can explore although the weather kept us inside when we visited. We would recommend Beachy Rise.

The stay at Beachy rise was a very nice one. We've been kindly welcome by Susan on our arrival. We were staying in a very nice bedroomat the top of the house. The bathroom was a bit old, but ok.
We got good advice for dinner in a pub close by, The Ship Inn, which serves excellent and big dinner.
The breakfast was very nice, with a good traditionnal english breakfast, and a good choice from the buffet.

I visited in September and had the twin room that looked out onto the Downs because there were no single rooms available and was only charged for a single room!!!...a great start to a wonderfull 3 day trip.
Susanne was a fantastic host full of humour and smiles and local knowledge.
The room was more than acceptable and my friend was given a beautiful double room to the front..again for the price of a single!!!

The great breakfast was more than enough to keep me satisfied untill tea time and just a few minutes walk along the road is a little area full of shops pubs and places to eat in the evening
and if you want to stroll along the beach its only minutes away.

I came mainly to see the Towner Art Gallery and the John Piper Exhibition but the area is rich in all things Artistic so if thats your thing you wont be let down.I will def. be back with my good lady Carole next summer.

So no complaints only praise for Beachy Rise Guest House 10 out of 10

Room Tip: The rooms to the rear look out onto the Downs

The house is so comfortable, clean & pretty, it's amazing. A cooked breakfast of mushrooms and tomatoes; and other stuff that makes up a British breakfast is delicious. I could see the South Downs from my bedroom window. The lady of the house, Suzanne, is remarkable and is totally in charge of her guests' well-being. Her rooms are works of art with real fireplaces. All in, you really feel a tinge of regret on departure.

Room Tip: All the rooms are wonderful.
