I've just spent a week at this hotel and been impressed by the staff. The hotel was clean and smart. The rooms my family had were all good size and clean. The meals were a bit school dinnerish but filling. The bar lacks a selection of bottled beers but staff are friendly. Leisure Plex do tend to serve elderly tastes (Newcastle Brown) but will hopefully modernise a bit in their beer choices. The evening entertainment improves as the week goes on but still enjoyable throughout.

Room Tip: Sea views were all excellent. They do not have any air conditioning nor wifi in rooms.

Hotel looks impressive from the road and doesn't disappoint in the main areas, fantastic high ceilings and grand wide staircases. I think the Victorians did a wonderful job building this place. The room I had was dated with pink wallpaper and dirty paint that was chipped all over, however the bed was clean and the bathroom was clean apart from the soap holder which was stil dirty from the previous guest! The evening food portions were small and I do not like puréed veg yuk yuk! Also very mean to only have 5 small half potatoes between 2 of us and enough veg for a child. I also felt very rushed when eatin as the staff were so busy blink and you've missed them. This sounds like a moan but attention to detail and giving guests options and time to eat the food in their own time isn't too much to ask is it?

We found ourselves in eastbourne after work without a room. After some searching we rang the Queens and obtained a room. The staff on reception were friendly and polite.

Our two room was a decent size, clean and comfortable with a good shower (much needed after an immensely hot day) - note I have marked the room and overall as 3 as could do with some TLC as you would expect with a large period hotel.

Breakfast is ordered off the menu and was tasty and filling with a range of hot and cold items - breakfast is from 08:00-09:00 which is slightly restrictive, in part due to a high volume of coach parties - also adding to overall score of 3 (for the timings not the other clientele).

Hi,

My friend and I stayed at your Hotel for a week, 7th, to the 15th July, we had a great time, the room was large and comfortable, and very clean. The meals were good, and the staff couldn't be more helpful, and the entertainment was great. I am sure we will be coming back to the Queens Hotel soon.

Thank yiou.

Jeanette Fenna and Joyce Pae.
