Travelling as a family of four (two of which being aged 4 and 5) it is important that the places we stay are not only roomy and comfortable, but can also offer a "home from home" feel that our children feel comfortable in. Seaview Guesthouse ticked all of these boxes and many more!
We were welcomed warmly by Adam and Kerry, who showed us to our rooms on the top floor. To our delight we were greeted with a large ensuite bedroom with the most stunning view across the sea from on the balcony. The room was clean, comfortable, spacious with lots of added touches (the mini chais longe in the bedroom attracted my older son who made himself very comfortable!). There was tea, coffee, hot chocolate and biscuits readily available which was very welcome to us on a cold day! In the bathroom we were supplied with soaps, shower gel, shower caps and even little manicure kits - lovely little touch. The towels were big and fluffy and most importantly, clean.
After making ourselves at home we decided to familiarise ourselves with the lay out of the guest house. We were on the top floor, with other en suite rooms but there was also a seperate toilet for the floor. Below us yet more rooms and a bathroom, then the ground floor there was a very welcoming lounge with an abundance of books and games for us to peruse. In addition, Seaview encourage you to "paint a pebble" and leave it there for them to display. Our children loved this activity and went out the beach specifically one afternoon to choose their pebbles.
The dining room is situation in the basement part of the house. Yet the following morning despite us being at the top of the house, and the kitchen being at the bottom, we woke to the most delicious cooked breakfast smells to entice us down.
At breakfast we were greeted by a full selection of cereals (branded - important to the children!), yoghurts (low fat, important to me!), apple/orange juice, fresh fruit and milk. We were encouraged to help ourselves whilst they took our cooked breakfast order (very accommodating to the children's needs!). Needless to say all the food was delicious and set us up for our day of beach walking!
Location-wise Seaview is located at the end of the "Main" parade. Ideally located we were able to walk comfortably with the children in about 20 minutes to the pier and a further 10 minutes to the town centre.
Parking is free (first come first served on-road parking) and we were able to park in the side street and comfortably walk round to the front of the house with our belongings.
We found the area to be very safe, friendly and secure.
Adam and Kerry make a great team and are very chatty and accomodating. Nothing seems to be too much trouble and the food is delivered looking and tasting lovely with effortless service.
If you are looking for comfort, style, cleanliness, good food and friendly hosts, this is the place.
