“Relaxing friendly stay.”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed November 18, 2010

We enjoyed our stay with 2 children aged 10. The beach is very close by. It was easy to walk to nearby shops many of which the children enjoyed due to interesting gifts on display. The owners are very friendly and accomodated all of our needs. The food was good and I really enjoyed the traditional breakfast. I slept well as the hotel is quiet enough at night, I will certainly book a room there again on my return next year to Eastbourne.

We have just returned from a Travelstyle 7 day holiday at the Fairlands and have nothing but praise for the management and staff who went out of their way to ensure everyone had a wonderful time. We take 6/7 coach holidays a year and we have to say we have never been made more welcome. The hotel is very well situated for all the amenities Eastbourne has to offer and we will certainly return to the Fairlands very soon.

Lucky and his wife could not have been more helpful as we are in our 80's and like a bit of fuss. They booked day trips and theatre for us. The live entertainment was good. Location is good and very good value for money. We would definately go back.

VERY FRIENDLY WELCOME , the owner lucky and his wife made me my partner and my 2n1/2 year old son adam very welcome when we arrived on a travelstyle trip on the 20 sept 2010. the room we had was very spacious with a bathroom . The food was nice and a good choice plus the staff and lucky always asked if everything were ok and if my son didnt like any food he could have something else to eat no trouble . The soup was nice the meals were 3 course the homemade fish pie was lovely . On the last night in the dining room was candlelight dinner which was nice for the last dinner . The food was served very quickly from the 1st course to the tea or coffee .The bar in the hotel sold drinks cheaper than the pubs and mike who works behind the bar is a true gentelman . If we go to eastbourne again we would stay at fairlands hotel .

Tired and dated, old, creaky beds, hard lumpy pillows and threadbare towels and bed linen. Black mould in the shower. Very limited choice of poor quality food very badly cooked. Chef needs sacking. Misleading ad by travelstyle, who don't even employ their own drivers, so many different pick ups it took us 9 hours to get from the midlands!

We enjoyed our week at the Fairlands Hotel with a nice front facing room and a side sea view.It was very conveniently situated and had a nice, although small lounge with a bar.We enjoyed some very good entertainment in the hotel on two evenings and bingo was available for those who like it (Not us). The Manager and staff were very pleasant and efficient and overall we had a very nice break.
