“Beautiful stay”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 25, 2014

Whilst we are only on day 2 of 7 this is a lovely place to stay with a very well appointed room and amenities. As we are on our honeymoon they have taken care of us by adding a special touch. Room is spacious; and the direct pool access is a must!!! The pool bar is great and they offer a number of free activities which is also a big bonus. Will definitely come back here again, to which I don't say about a lot of hotels.

Wow lots of 5 out of 5s already...Well it deserves it! Everything is so well balanced between aesthetics and functionality. The only bad thing I will say is we didn't have the best experience at first with our Airport transfer; just for staff purposes and to be sure you pick the right people up make sure you have a sign with names of the people you're picking up.
This hotel is absoloutely stunning and the services are the best I've ever experienced. Its away from everything so it makes it tranquil and peaceful, perfect for any couple trying to get away from their busy lives. Look there is so much more I could say about this hotel and how amazing it is but go experience for yourself it is an absoloute gem of Koh Samui.

We really enjoyed our 1 night stay at Mai Samui. A very nice resort with friendly staff.
Our rooms were lovely, nice big beds, bathrooms lovely and even an outdoor bath which was beautiful to have under the stars.
The pool was probably the biggest and best I've been in, it sweeps around the resort, and has 2 swim up bars. We spent so much time in there!
The beach itself wasn't the nicest, but we used the kayaks that are available free of charge and had a paddle around.
There are 3 restaurants at the resort. The Thai restaurant is absolutely delicious. We had the best meal in Thailand there. I had the Tom Yum soup and my friend the green curry and were unable to find a better one around the rest of thailand.

We got an online deal to stay here and we were super surprised at the quality of this place. We stayed for 5 nights and unfortunately I was ill for most of it. The reception staff were very helpful in providing contact and location details for a local doctor and hospital. They provide a shuttle several times per day drop off / pick up to chaweng beach. Reception also helped with organising tours to other islands, with many to choose from.

The bell boys were great - one took us on a tour of the library where there are books and DVDs that can be borrowed, as well as computers with internet. There are several restaurants to eat at here (quite expensive but still worth it). Breakfast was incredible - full buffet with egg and waffle station.

There was happy hour at the beach bar. The main pool is spectacular and can be accessed from many points. Lot's of chairs front the beach, and there is a floating walkway over the water that's great at night when the tide comes in.

There are several hotels nearby if you're not eating at the hotel, including the W and Four Seasons.

We hired motor bikes from the hotel to get around the island to visit Chaweng and some waterfalls - cheap and easy to do.

Each night hotel staff would come around to your room to give you some cookies. Rooms cleaned daily and water refreshed daily. I cannot express how beautiful the rooms were, with a LARGE sunken bath!

There is a second pool more for children (although there is a pool bar here for the adults). We didn't use it but the gym and spa looked good.

We are most certainly staying here next time.

Very nice hotel!
Spacious rooms, modern decorated. We had a private pool access from our room/ terrace.
Having dinner at the private beach in the evening was so relaxing and romantic.
You can rent motor scooters at the hotel to explore the island.

The only thing... it is a bit far away from other restaurants.

Room Tip: Book a room with private pool access.

Loved every aspect of this place. Staff were amazing and friendly. Will be coming back. Rooms were lovely, great location. Beryls bar and pjs bar just a short stroll away were a key part of our Thailand experience. Local tourist centre down the road to organise day trips was very helpful as well. Highly recommend this place

We stayed at the Mai Samui for 5 nights at the beginning of our trip to Thailand and it was an absolute reprieve from the busy days before traveling and the long trip that preceded our stay. We arrived late at night, after utilizing the comfortable transfer service from the airport. Its about a 30 minute drive. We were greeted as reception with cold, lemon-grassy towels and a refreshing cool drink. Check-in was quick and efficient and before we knew it we were in our room and our bags had arrived. The room was very comfortable, on the 3rd floor with a balcony and an outdoor bathtub the size of a baby pool. The beds were somewhat hard but we figured it was good for us. The size of the room was generous and we loved going back there after dinner or the pool to hang out. Breakfast was delicious (go for the waffles!) and the pools were simply divine. We loved the sandy bottom pool which kind of made up for the lack of a beach to adequately swim on, and the pool bars were fun and we loved the drinks (especially the cool summer drinks specials -- mango margaritas!). We did not eat at the resort but went instead to Beryl's Bar and PJs which were fabulous. My only gripe would be that there isn't really a beach that one could lie out on... they have been successful in creating a beachy, sandy area on the coast BUT you can't just run out into the water because its ankle-deep and there are rocks and seaweed everywhere. Didn't bother us though as we could still enjoy the views of the ocean from the pool. It's a bit isolated but that was just what we were looking for and once you are there, you won't want to leave. The staff really makes the stay as they are ever friendly and professional and accommodating. We has Thai massages at the spa and thoroughly recommend the experience... was a lovely oasis and the service again, was fantastic. Stay here!
