“Very nice!!!!!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 12, 2013

We choose the hotel for its location which is great.
It turned out to be a very likable and good hotel.
The room (no. 212) is small and so is the bath, but it was very functional and had everything
you needed including a fireplace, a desk, a refrigerator and two chairs. The room is very good looking and the bed is heaven! Everything is clean and the bath is shining, spotlessy clean. I think this is of extremely importance always, but extra important when the space is so limited. The only thing was that I smashed two insects coming in the window (sorry, but I smashed it on the white wall expecting it to be removed) and it was not removed the next day. Breakfast was really great!! The first day the juices were empty, but that was not a problem the next day. A bit noise from the street cleaner early morning. Nice elevator, and nice, big oldfashion staircase.

This is a really nice hotel right in the centre of Stavanger and near to the ferry terminals. We had a 'business' room which was large enough for a long weekend and clean and comfortable. I agree with other reviews that the outside is quite underwhelming as is the reception but the room quality is as good as any other in the city and the staff were excellent.
The only slight problem is with some street noise outside, especially the daily 7am street cleaner!! However you cannot be this central and not have some noise - it is certainly nothing like you would get in a major city like London!

Room Tip: Go for a 'business' type room if your budget can afford it.

This is a charming hotel, with a cheerful receptionist and a welcoming appearance. While the bed was a bit soft for our taste, it was still comfortable enough. The positioning is convenient near the Oil Museum, with many eating options within 10 minutes walking distance.

The hotel doesn't have it's own parking, but there is a municipal garage 2 blocks away.

The breakfast spread was substantial, with a hot breakfast, fruit, cereals, cold meats and cheese, smoked salmon and all the odd Norwegian breakfast choices.

We had a well appointed room, and something we haven't yet seen anywhere else in Norway - toiletries!

The only downside was the size of the shower. You struggle to shower comfortably as you knock elbows against the side as you move around, and we had a business room. I would hate to think what size shower you would get in a standard room.

because my favourite hotel was fully booked, had to choose another one and this was good call. this hotel is very nice, modern wit hvery good sleep quality. The price was a bit cheeper then other hotels, but overall quality was exceeding the other hotels in the area...I would recommend this one

Room Tip: ask for a room with view to the street

From outside you just dont get it.. maybe in the reseption you will start to get it.. If not im sure you have got it when you open the door to your room!! Its simply so stylish and elegant, and you can really get the home feel here. Service was great! and it seems like they are always trying to do the little extra for you :-).Great food/breakfast! The people running this hotel, are setting a whole new standard for making you feel at peace away from home. Thank you so much all of you<3 We will be back! Hoping for a little bar next time to relax and enjoy the peace in midt town;-) We had a great experience with this hotel !:-)

Definitely a great location but not a great hotel. Our room was on the 5th floor but lift only goes up to 4th floor. Told it was a quiet room as it was at the back but we were disturbed by revellers at night and seagulls early morning. Room was however pretty roomy and quite nice and clean. The hallways had various bookcases full of musty books which did not look particularly nice (or safe from a fire point of view!)
No bar in the hotel - breakfast served in a room off of the main hallway which was quite nice but seems to have been (or still is during the busier months) an Italian restaurant. Breakfast however was very good.
Lady at reception was very friendly and helpful but gentleman who stood in for her later in the day hardly lifted his head to acknowledge us.
Overall would not stay there again. Perhaps it would be good for a business man overnight but not for a couple on a romantic getaway!

Smelly drains; cold and dried out food for breakfast; and the smallest shower I have ever had to squeeze myself into. Such a nice location and building, and with a bit of care it could be a cosy and classy boutique type hotel ..... but way off the mark!

Room Tip: 501 has a tiny shower
