“One of the better cheap hotels I have seen”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed August 8, 2014

This is one of the cheapest listed hotels in Stavanger. And I say this with no joke, it is one of the best deals I have ever gotten on a hotel in the world.

I got a "standard room" with a double bed. It was awesome for the price. The room was clean, the bed was extremely comfortable and the bathroom was really nice.

If you are on a budget and worried about this hotel perhaps not being nice - just don't. It's a good deal. Book it.

Room Tip: Go with the standard room, not the single. It's worth the extra money as you get a really great...

My husband stayed here a few times several years ago and wanted to return and knew what to expect. The location cannot be beat. I love old historic hotels and I enjoyed looking at the historic photos on the walls. We were given a top (5th I believe) level floor with a spectacular harbor view. We appreciated being able to open the window and get refreshing cool air. It was exciting to wake up the next morning and see three cruise ships in the harbor (never heard them arrive). Our room was comfortable and the hotel breakfast was probably one of the best we had on our trip-very extensive with many choices + great hot coffee. Perhaps this is not a heavy time of year for tourists because we were the only ones in the bar (Holmen?). The only issue we had to deal with was the hotel was not set up for parking cars. We really didn't get much help on this from the front desk but figured out a nearby parking garage (or parkering as it is called).

Room Tip: Ask for a 5th floor room with harbor view.

I chose to rate this stay very good in the way that Victoria is one of the old school hotels in Stavanger, that still manage to put together a good experience despite that it is getting old and tired. Some refurbishment needs to be done with the rooms and general areas in order to keep the "Very good"-stamp, if not I am afraid it will quickly turn into the Average category for my case. Location however is premium for this hotel.

We were actually booked at the Skansen Hotel, which has the same owners, but our reservation was lost. To make up for the mistake, they upgraded us to the much nicer Victoria Hotel. It was a very basic room, but it was a cool, old hotel, with comfortable beds and a clean bathroom. It was a very short walk from anywhere we wanted to go, and the breakfast was fantastic!

Traditional Hotel situated at the waterfront i the very center of Stavanger. No pool and fitness center available (didn't sees any). Use this Hotel as base for visiting the Oil Museum or take a stroll to the old part of Stavanger close to the Victoria Hotel.

Room Tip: Some noise from ventilation to rooms at 4th floor, but the view is beautiful.

Dear Jan

Thank you for your review. We do not have a pool or a gym, but we do have vouchers to SATS gym 200 meters from the hotel. As we are situated in the heart of the city senter there is a public pool a very short walk from the hotel.

Best regards

This hotel has a great location, right in the middle of town. Decent looking from the outside and well kept.

The rooms are small, old but clean. There is no aircon which means the rooms are very warm. In light that this should be a modern hotel, this is rather annoying.

You get free internet. A bed. And that i about that.
