“Best Hotel in Stavanger”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 4 days ago NEW

Stavanger is well known by the terrible and expensive hotel service, The only hotel that managed so far to be out of the "terrible" is the Radisson Royal. It's expensive like any other in Stavanger, but you get a good service and you can enjoy a nice breakfast.

This was the final stop over on our tour of Norway and after arriving by coach from Bergen, we easily found the hotel from the bus terminal (approximately 10 min walk).
The hotel is probably over shadowed by its neighbouring Radisson Blu Atlantic, but the Royal is much smaller and well equipped.
We had room 633 (business class room) which was very nice. Loved it.
The hotel facilities are great, with a gym and pool etc. My only complaint was after a lot of travelling we where so looking forward to using the jacuzzi and unfortunatley it was out of order.
Apart from that we had a great stay. Loved the breakfast....again, a small complaint, the food was only luke warm, but apart from this is was great.
All in all a great stay and I would recommend this hotel to other travellers.

Room Tip: Ask for one of the business class rooms on the to floor. They are well equipped and expect a greart...

The Radisson Blu was a typical upscale hotel. The room was nice and the windows were large letting in a lot of light, a nice feature given how far north you are and the short days during the winter months. The best part of my stay was the breakfast. There was a large selection of very appealing foods. The choices were grains, cereals, fruits, eggs, bacon, sausages and other breakfast meats, and several types of smoked fish. My only regret was that I didn’t have longer to enjoy this beautiful breakfast because of work commitments. The staff was very friendly and helpful in directing me to restaurants in old Stavanger. It was an easy walk from the train station and old Stavanger.

I stayed 3 nights and it was in the main enjoyable.
Good breakfast and room was large with a carpet. Also a bit warm for me.
It should have had 5 blips but the following let it down.
Restaurant - this is not a relaxing place as its too formal. Food is just ok - nothing special. It also took some time to come.
Shower in room would not adjust temperature. Luckily it was ok.
Shower room had a good 6 inch step from it. Took a couple of good spine jolts for the brain figure that one out.
Room temperature did not adjust.

The girls took a weekend to Stavanger and Egersund to the Christmas markets and stayed at this hotel just on the edge of the old town.
The staff were so friendly and accommodating and the place was immaculately clean.
Easy to get to from the airport bus and the highlight was the breakfast!!! Everything you c ould want to eat and it certainly filled us up for the day's shopping.
We shared a three bedded room and the put me up was extremely comfortable.
Only complaint was that it was so hot in the room even for November and we had to keep the window open so a little street noise until midnight but nothing beyond that and certainly no noise from the corridors.
Great deal and thoroughly recommend and will be using again soon.

Room Tip: The rooms on the outside maybe prone to some traffic noise but not sure the ones in the Atrium had w...

The better of the two Radissons in Stavanger Sentrum. I would recommend this better than the Radisson Atlantic, although Atlantic has nice view of lake in city center. Anyway, that is only advantage, otherwise Royal is a better choice out the two.

Hotel has everything what is expected and is close to centrum of STAVANGER,... literally few steps away,..

An otherwise pleasant stay has been spoiled by a very bad restaurant experience here at the Eatroyal restaurant. We were persuaded by inclement weather to eat here at the hotel restaurant, even though we were unable to find reviews on Tripadvisor or elsewhere. After cocktails and an acceptable charcuterie we were served what was called "traditional" Norwegian lamb. Since it took 1 hour and 20 minutes from ordering, we really wanted to like this dish! It was skimpy, weirdly butchered, and badly cooked. When I asked our overworked server how it was prepared, she said it was boiled or steamed, then put in the oven. She then said, "Most foreigners don't like it." Really? Tell us that when we order, or don't have it in a hotel that caters to, well...Anyway $47.00 for an inedible meal that they never tried to fix. Yes, they took it back to the kitchen, but I did take photos which I will try to post here...
