“Great atmosphere and good food”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed April 24, 2013

Visited here in April with my Mum, son & daughter-in-law with baby in tow. We had the Burgers which were really good. Very pricey bottle of wine working out at £40 per bottle but we were warned that Norway was expensive. This was a lively and popular restaurant and would visit again next time in Stavangaer.

“Great atmosphere!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed April 21, 2013

Only went in for a drink on a quiet Sunday night but found the staff very friendly - quirky surroundings and very comfortable and cosy seating areas. Drinks expensive (not unusual) but would definitely go back.

“Good service - food ok”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed April 8, 2013

Chose this place on basis of their varied menu. Very pleasant waitress. Food was ok, and wine nice but expensive ( but normal for Stavanger ! )

“Just dull and boring”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed April 8, 2013

We went in here for a drink and maybe something to eat but as we ordered a drink we just felt unwelcome by the staff. The place is very dull. I would not want any of my friends to waste time and money going in this bar/restaurant, plenty of other nice places to eat, don't waste your time on this one!

“Favourite restaurant in Stavanger”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed March 27, 2013

A few years back I moved from Stavanger after having lived there for a decade. Throughout the years I lived in the town, Phileas Fogg was my favourite place to eat out. November of 2012 found me back in Stavanger with a return to to Phileas Fogg with friends. It was nice to see that its charm is the same, and the food as good as it used to be.
The service was, as always, impeccable. Fast, friendly and with a generous smile.
The restaurant is located in a back street near the harbour. The view from the window seats is nothing to write home about, facing asphalt and the wooden panel of the neighbouring buildings. But the view has never been the point of the place to me anyhow.
Phileas Fogg is decorated with maps, pictures, artefacts from ships and trains as well as strange objects from around the world (at least they are meant to give that impression). The walls are covered in red wooden panel, and together with the decorations give a very pleasant atmosphere.
It's a good place both for dinner, for lunch or just to wind down with a glass of beer or wine or hot beverage on a cold afternoon.
To me Phileas Fogg is still a must when visiting Stavanger.
