“Great location”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed August 14, 2014 via mobile

Boutique hotel located next to the harbour and fish market. Lovely spacious bathroom with stand alone bath and separate shower cubicle, bedroom individually decorated. Tea and coffee in the room. Restaurant had been decorated in a really interesting style with railway sleepers for the walls and lots of dark and sumptuous fabrics. Breakfast was very good with both hot and cold choices. This hotel was in a really great location and well priced in comparison to the competition. Receptionist was also helpful when asked if she could print out our ferry details. Restaurant food Aldo looked very nice.

This hotel does just what is says on the box.
It is housed in one of the antique buildings belonging to the Hanseatic port of Bergen.
it has amazing antique rooms with wooden beams and small windows, but at the same time manages to fuse this with highly modern touches such as large flat screen TVs and very clean and bright bathrooms.

What a perfect location as others have noted, right in the middle of the action. The rustic style fits right in with its surroundings. We had a charming suite, well furnished, great bathroom with separate shower and tub (a must), and very clean. But it overlooked the roof of the next door building and had 2 tiny windows - so it was a bit dark. Very nice and friendly staff. Everyone deservedly raves about breakfast...it was excellent. As was our one night in the bar! We really liked this hotel.

The hotel is in a good location very clean and we'll decorated with a good breakfast . The only problem is it is a it of a lottery with getting a good room . We booked two rooms at the same price only to find one was half the size of the other (room 453) no wardrobe , no bed side tables, small tv and a leak in the roof when it rained however the next morning they did change the room to another on a different floor which was a pain as it meant the family was split up . Also the walls are not insulated due to the fact it is a old hotel which is not a problem if you do not nave noisy neighbours!

This is a beautiful hotel with tons of character – its very well suited for a romantic weekend. The hotel has a great location in the middle of Bergen city center.

Friendly staff , nice breakfast and clean! :)

We stayed two nights in this charming old hotel in a fabulous location in Bergen. It has a very personal and friendly feel to it. The rooms are only average in size but adequate. It was not air conditioned and Bergen was experiencing a record heat wave during our stay, but none the less we still had a comfortable sleep with the window open, and no noise intruding. The bathroom was fine.
There is a good restaurant attached to the hotel which we used and enjoyed. Breakfast was included and was adequate.
The location is opposite the fish market and at the start of the Bryggen area which is the old historical part of Bergen, and so is where a lot of the sightseeing is centred. Even though Bergen was inundated with cruise ship passengers during our stay, they did not impede on our quiet enjoyment of this delightful hotel.

Great location, straight next to Bryggen (maybe it is even so that it is still part of Bryggen...). The rooms are furnished accordingly, everything makes a really good impression.

The only downside of the location is that there aren't any parking places at the hotel and one has to leave the car at the close-by parking house (about 250 NOK per 24h). Our room was surprisingly silent and the breakfast was as one would expect.
