Arrived without a reservation & the two of us managed to be squeezed in. The dining area was elegant and gave this restaurant a semi-formal feel, but there was a mixture of casual/business attire throughout. The restaurant is on one of Bergen's main streets (Bryggen) at the fish market area.
Staff was very friendly and had good service, however, we did wait awhile for our main entrees to arrive. Complimentary bread with balsamic vinegar on it was DELICIOUS! I ordered Asian-style Halibut. I was expecting something with soy or teriyaki sauce, but it turned out the dish was fish in a stew with mussels, whole chunks of ginger and bok choy. Not what I had in mind, so I wasn't enthused about it but the food tasted fine (other than the whole chunks of ginger). My mum order lamb shanks that came with a tastey red wine sauce and the meat was tender. For dessert we split Cheesecake (not exactly New York/typical cheesecake but similar) with warm cherry compote atop. That was good.
We spent over 100 USD dining here, which is absurd for American standards, but that is typical for eating out in Bergen and Norway.
