“Fantastic time in Bergen”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 5, 2014

Lovely helpful hosts, apartment was very cool, clean and everything we needed. Bergen is lovely, big/small enough to explore in a few days, the apartment is about a 20 minute walk to the main town.My pictures show the walk in to town which if you go the back roads can be quite pretty! and a picture of the harbour if you walk around it and up the left side towards the aquarium.

Many thanks to Johan who was a superb host for our time in Bergen. Both prior to our short (1 night stay) and during our in person welcome, he went absolutely above and beyond with information on where to go and what to do, making particular note of places that would be open during Easter (which is a time when many restaurants and shops are shut). He also gave us fantastic advice on a hike to take that started just 5 minutes from the doorstep and it was a highlight of our 5 day stay in Norway. An added bonus, Johan kindly let us access to the apartment all day on the day of our departure so we could take showers upon returning from our hike - something we never would have had at a hotel! Ground floor apartment has everything needed for a short stay as a couple, is very clean, and in excellent condition.

My husband and I stayed 4 nights in the ground floor studio apartment. Johan is wonderful! He provided so much information and was happy to answer all of our questions when we arrived. The studio apartment had everything we needed - comfortable bed, well-equipped kitchen, private bathroom with a washer and dryer. The apartment can be a bit dark as it is 3-4 steps down from street level. The location was fine for us - about a 10-15 minute easy walk from the center. We liked being away from the main tourist area and all the cruise ship passengers. Also, we are runners and the apartment was close to wooded trails on Mt. Floyen. The only problem we had with the apartment was the traffic noise. The building is located on a busy road, and we needed to wear earplugs at night to be able to sleep. If you do. It like traffic noise, this May not be the apartment for you.

We were a family of four and had a really great time staying in this apartment, close to city center but quiet at night, supermarket just around the corner, and the apartment is really well equiped and clean it has all you need to make you feel at home.
Johan was really helpfull and friendly also!
Totally recomend this apartment when staying in Bergen!

We had such a great time staying at this apartment in Bergen! The apartment is perfect-- clean, nicely furnished and well-stocked with kitchen utensils, etc. Johan provided an amazing amount of information for us when we checked in-- maps, brochures, guidebooks, personal recommendations-- no need to bother making a separate trip to the TI, just talk to Johan! Location is also excellent; just a 15 minute walk to the city center, and also very close to local bus stops which is convenient if it's rainy. Highly recommend!

We have just got back from an amazing stay in this wonderful apartment. We couldnt have asked for anything more in terms of accommodation. Johan and his family are wonderful hosts, we were greeted by Johan and his daughter when we arrived who had picked flowers for the apartment that morning and also left us some Easter chocolates! Johan provided us with loads of information and local knowledge way before we had even left England which was invaluable and he was on hand with any recommendations, help and advice we needed the whole time we were there. Staying at Sanvikstorget is way better than staying in a hotel thanks to the personal touches included and the feeling you get of being a proper part of this great city instead of just passing through as a tourist.

The apartment itself is beautiful, loads of space and light and really really comfortable. We really appreciated having our own kitchen and dining room as eating out in Norway can be expensive. The location of the apartment is also perfect, just a 10 minute walk to the old harbour at Bryggen. It's also really well served by local buses so no problems getting to/ from the airport/ accessing locations further afield. As you can see we have given everything a rating of excellent (apsrt from fitness centre and swimming pool as these are not relevant!)

Thank you Johan and family for a wonderful and memorable stay in your lovely apartment- we'll be recommending to all of our friends and family!!

Lovely apartment. Full of lovely comfortable furniture and style. The double bed in the one bedroom was very comfortable and spacious. I rented with a friend and he stayed on the single bed in the front room and found it perfectly comfortable.
The apartment is just far enough out of the centre of Bergen to give you some peace but not so far that it can't be walked to.
I would recommend this to anyone.
