“Wow, what a view!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 7, 2011

When my friend suggested taking the Ulriken cable car up the mountain side so we could enjoy the view I never expected the incredible experience we had in store. We parked right by the entrance & only had a 5 minute wait before the cable car arrived. The cable car literally pulled us up the steep majestic mountainside and even though I have no fear of heights I must say I did feel a tingling in my tummy (in a good way) as we could see the steep mountain below. Once we arrived to the top my jaw dropped open in awe..from the viewing platform, you have uninterrupted panoramic views of Bergen, the sea, fjords and all the beautiful mountains that surround the city. It was clear as day and then in the blink of an eye we were covered in fog. 10 minutes later it was clear again. We enjoyed some hot chocolate and cake in the restaurant which of course had huge windows and let us enjoy the vibrant and changing view. If you go to Bergen you can't miss this mountain top!

“Worthy - Great views of Bergen”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed August 9, 2011

Many tourists visit the funicular to enjoy views of Bergen. However, if you have the money and the time, don't miss taking the cable car up to Mount Ulriken. From the top you will be rewarded with amazing panoramic views of the city. There is a restaurant at the top if you want to relax and enjoy something to drink or eat. If you like hiking, there is a map with different routes, which are classified by difficulty level.

“A perfect view of the seven mountains”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed June 13, 2011

Taking the cable cart from the city and up the Ulriken mountain is an experience in itself. It only takes seven minutes, but the queue can take 45 mins in peak hours.

From the top you get an amazing view of Bergen city and the surrounding seven mountains. There is a restaurant that has a good quality kitchen and quite the view.

It is also possible to hike the Ulriken, that takes about an hour each way.

We enjoyed a relaxing afternoon on the top, having our Sunday lunch there and just taking in the sights. The place is a good fit for both athletes looking for a challenge as well as families looking for an experience.
