“Incredible”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed February 8, 2013

Loved it! The train ride was soooo exciting and the views were incredible. Definitely worth a visit. Unfortunately the restaurant wasn't open when we visited and it can be quite icy under foot, so wear good shoes. Try to have at least one ride at the bottom end of the train so you can see the whole route as you travel - beautiful! Such an amazing piece of engineering.

“Expectacular view from the Mountain”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed February 5, 2013

It is a wonderful experience, especialy at sunset. You look over the mountains and then turned to see the white city under snow with all the Christmas lights coming...It really gets cold, so use many layers and winter clothes.

“Worth the trouble!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed February 4, 2013 via mobile

It was wet in the town but when we got to the top there was 6 cm. of snow. The view was splendid but because of the weather closing in we did not do the walks others have written about. The views were superb and it was clear for a short time, enough for some decent photos.

“Must do”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 29, 2013

Take the funicular up, walk up to the lake and then walk back into town. The cafe wasn't open in January so I can't comment on that but the views and the walk are exceptional. I have walked down both marked routes to the City Centre and definitely recommend the northern route i.e. as you walk away from the funicular and there are several paths go sharp left past the Troll Forest. The walks end up weaving between the houses on the edge of town which is very interesting.

“a great view”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 29, 2013

Arrive in bergen on holland america fjord cruise of norway the weather was good for
sightseeing, clear and sunny, but not to hot. we walked from the ship to the town centre and
open air fish market, the walk there takes about 20 mins with plenty to see on the way, shops
sailing and fishing ships. The fish market in large but most of the stalls selling the same
types of fish, which you can purchase and eat on the tables there. We then went to the
funicular railway which takes you to the top of mount floyen. It was about an hour wait to get
on the car, as there is only two in opperation sharing the same track. The cost for a single
journey to the top for two persons was about £8.50 . Be warned do not attempt to walk up the
mountain by the footpath unless you are extremly fit , mad or a bit of both as we walked down
which in great for scenery but took us 45mins and even going down hill was tiring.great views from the top shops and food and drink available well worth the wait about a 3 min ride up no waiting forthe return by car. if you puchase single uo, you can get a downhill tkt from machines provided at entrance to car station well worth the visit
