Just returned from the Bergen Brygge and I am pleased to say I had a very enjoyable experience.
Arriving at a very cold and snowy Bergen airport we chose to get the airport bus to the hotel. The bus doesnt stop at the hotel but its stops only metres away at the Radisson Royal hotel.
Check in was fast and efficient and we were given a triple room located on the 9th floor with excellent views over the harbour and the tower. ( Email the hotel in advance and request a Harbour view room ).
Room was clean, comfortable and spacious with tv, trouser press and clean towels provided daily.
The hotel was really quiet during our stay, so no noise could be heard at night.
Free tea and coffee is served in the reception area during the day and night, which was an added bonus.
Breakfast was exceptional with plenty of choice.
Location is fantastic and within walking distance of all major attractions.
Be sure to take the mountain train up Floyen, as this is an experience in itself and the views are amazing.
One point I must raise is that dont go to Bergen on a budget, as it is one of the most expensive cities I have travelled to.
Pint of local beer costs on avarage £7.00 and a simple meal about £30.00 even McDonalds is about £10.00 for a standard meal.
Bergen is and excellent city and the Bergen Brygge is a hidden treasure and I will definately be visiting again, this time with a pocket full of cash.
