I was browsing through some restaurants in Bergen as my absolutely favorite restaurant was fully booked – again. And then I found that it has been two completely off the chart reviews. I have dined here 8 or 9 times the last two years, brought clients, colleagues and family here and have had the most fantastic experience. The clientele I have brought has generally been people with a keen interest in food and who travels worldwide 100 or more days a year and dines on the best restaurants they can find. I have never heard anything other than praise for this, in my view, fantastic restaurant. The chefs are indeed playful, takes immense pride in what they do and are very competent, having, as far as I know, been working in great kitchens in many locations, and it shows. Many small and special tastes, some international, some very Norwegian, and some very Bergen local. With such a significant variety of flavours and presentations it is possible that one or two may not be absolutely to your particular taste, but that can be forgiven enjoying as you play through the remaining 15 - 20 flavours within the small dishes. Last time I was there, which I believe was on the 20th of November, the Maitre’d, who by the way has always been super professional and knowledgeable, informed us that at this time of year, with big Christmas parties the noise level could be too high and unless we were ok with that, we should rather book for some other time. We did not experience any disturbing noise that day, but that can be very disturbing, hence the negative comments. The food was again fantastic, and I felt it as my obligation to let my voice be heard, here. But could have been more generous.
