The Rica Nidelven is by far one of the best hotels in Norway. If you are used to having hotel staff run around kissing your behind all the time then you should consider another country, its just not the scandinavian way. I am an airline pilot and stay at this hotel several times a year and it has always been a great experience. In general the standard of hotels in Norway is good but they try a little harder at Nidelven. The Food in the bar is really good, you have to try the chilliburger!. The breakfast is the best i get when on the job and I stay at many different hotels. The rooms are fair sized and nice and clean. The hotel has a great location short walking distance to the city centre and to Solsiden. a small mall with several resaurants and bars. If you like to stay in shape on your trips there is a good gym called "Sats" just a five minute walk away. If you dont like this hotel then you are too fussy and spoiled and should stay at home because you wont find a better hotel in Trondheim, beleive me I have tried them all. To be fair I must add that they have all been more or less pretty good, cant really say to stay away from any of them. The ovverall standard in Trondheim is good.
