“Basic Hard to Find Hotel”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed July 5, 2013

Our GPS took us to the other Best Western a few blocks away. Even with directions it was several trips around the block to locate. We got lucky and found parking on the street nearby. Good service at the front desk, and outstanding breakfast. The wine monopoly store is only a few blocks away and a Burger King around the corner. Also easy walk to the harbor to look at boats.

Room Tip: I spite of being on the 6th floor, we had no view from our room.

I've been one night in this hotel. Staff is very friendly, as we arrived at 7am (they where bit shocked) and they managed that they clean our room as first so at 11am we could already get in and have a rest after the night train journey from oslo.
Breakfast was included, very good You could even make your own waffles + waffles in evening
Rooms look good, seperated WC/shower. we stayed in 4 in 1 room, it was quite small . 2 of us slept on a sleeping-couch but it was fine.
the weird thing is that in that building is the cinema & hotel
overall good value for this price (quite cheap for 4* in Norway)

Room Tip: Do not take the family room (4 persons) unless you are travelling with children.

I had read reviews prior to arrival so there weren't many surprises. The hotel is hard to find as it's sharing the entrance with the Nova Cinema. The best way to find the hotel is to locate the cinema and then you'll see the tiny elevator which takes you to the reception on the 4th floor.

The room was basic but had everything I looked-for, except for heat. I stayed there in October 2012 and I could not get any heat on the oven in the room. Bed was OK except for the blanket which was too thin because of low room temperature. The best thing about the hotel was the room price compared with nearby hotels.

Unable to locate front entrance on arrival discovered this was because it was actually an entrance to the cinema also! No tea/cofee facilities in room, after making enquiries was informed I could obtain drinks from a machine in reception, when that machine was not available drinks obtained from an area in another part of reception! Curtains not sufficinet to keep the continual daylight out so if you can't sleep in daylight which is 24/7 in summer months don't go here! Extremely noisy with cinema and something else below my room but I couldn't quite work out what the something else was other than a thoroughfare.
Hotel smelt of popcorn almost continually :( Single room very compact and small, very warm, no air as window opened into some kind of atrium/thoroughfare. Hotel main doors locked at 9.30 when cinema closed, access after this time with key card for room. Bed was made but towels never changed and I stayed for three nights; breakfast:average
Trondheim was a very quaint and pretty part of Norway, the hotel was located quite well for my needs but unless there was absolutely nothing else available I would not return here and cannot reccommend it. It cost more than the airport hotel I stayed in at Oslo on my return journey. On arrival at this airport hotel it felt like I had died and gone to heaven compared to the Nova Hotel.

Location is good, near restaurants, supermarkets, etc. Free wifi which is good.

No carpark, lousy breakfast, no drop off area. Place is worn out eg sheets has seen better days, small corridors. Reception on 4th flr. The place houses a cinema complex too.

Will not go back there.

Hotel was adequate, but felt a little prison like in the corridors. Bed linen I felt did not smell quite right. Would not stay here again.

this hotel is in a nice location and has a cinema in the same building.

trondheim was very wet when our group stayed here at the end of august.

hotel was warm and dry.

my only gripe was that the spy hole was missing in my door and the gap stuffed with a piece of paper. not ideal.

breakfast here was good, buffet style with lots to choose from and a self serve coffee machine too.

somebody broke the waffle machine on our second day, previous to this guests could pour the waffle mixture onto the waffle iron and make their own waffles, brilliant and delicious.

Stayed August 2007
