This is a good location in Trodheim, it is a seven or eight minute walk from the railway station, just a little longer to the harbor. It is across the street from pretty little park and the Royal Residence. Most of the tourists sites are walkable from here and there are all sorts of shops and restaurants nearby. We were on the 4th floor facing the street. This might be noisy at times but we didn't have problems. The room was decent size with large windows. The hotel has no dining room but offers a boxed breakfast for 75NOK each. We tried this the first morning and requested 0900 delivery. We had become used to everything being prompt in Norway so when we didn't get anything by 0920 my wife went downstairs and retrieved our meals. Reception said they had just arrived. For 75NOK they weren't bad but we decided to strike out on our own the next morning. I don't really like eating breakfast in my room, I like to be among people. The hotel did have a coupon for 10% off at a local bakery that looked good but we did not use it. According to the hotel web page we thought we were to have a fridge and microwave in the room but didn't. We talked with reception about this and they said this was only in superior rooms but did allow that the web page was misleading and later brought up a microwave. This was a mixed blessing as we had to set it on the floor to reach a plug. In fairness there was a well equipped communal kitchen, also on the 4th floor. All of the staff were pleasant and helpful with one strange exception. My wife was trying to make some local phone calls and nothing would connect. She mentioned this to a young lady at the desk and was told that it was because the phone in our room was not working. So my wife asked if she could use the desk phone for a local call. The receptionist said apologetically that she didn't think that was allowed. So, since the phone is out and they know this, why not replace it or at least let the guests know that the phone is unavaiable? Since there didn't seem to be any resolution on offer we just gave up on the phone calls. Despite these issues I would probably stay here again, the good outweighed the few negatives.
