“Relaxing stay in beautiful winter weather”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed April 6, 2013

This is the third Easter holiday our family of four has spent at this venue, and we will probably plan getting there a future Easter as well.

Since our last visit, they've made a nice- yet necessary - overhaul of kitchen, furniture and floor in the apartment rooms in "Rammgården". Two separate bedrooms and a livingroom with small kitchen corner in addition to bathroom with shower gives a family a choice between spending their dollar at restaurants in Røros, or spend their time cooking simple meals themselves.

Some critical remarks are in order regarding meals: The breakfast, while generally good (the chicken was a favourite of ours) had supply problems - bread and bakery was at times empty, and replacements not always baked to the point of crispness and colour. Rather, while edible, we often ate the bread wondering if it had only been de-frozen and not properly heated/baked.

Being a lover of bread myself, this in particular was unsatisfactory. Also there was one further disappontment with a cold glass of red wine in the restaurant (the wine was perfectly tempered first time around).

This is things that should be easily fixed (as a Norwegian, however, I find it hard to confront such issues on the spot - hence the descriptions here).

Nice place ideally situated. Very good restaurant and kind people working there. They use a lot of local product for dinner & breakfast. Rooms are not So big but it's enough. Beds are amazing!! If you've never been to roros it's the place to start discovering it!

Very nice rooms and very good dinner and breakfast in vertshuset.
we lived in "ullvarefabrikken"with a dog and the room was very spacius with full kichen.
The only problem with the hotel is the prices and the lunsj.
Nok 130 for a very bad hamburger and 100 for a litle liverpaste sandvich is terrible.

Beautiful rooms in impressive historic setting. Our room was quite big and the interiour design was very tasteful. The personnel was outstandingly nice and friendly.

Dinner in the hotels restaurant was fantastic and the breakfast was to die for.

All in all one of the nicest places I have stayed in.

We travelled with my parents and had two rooms in Vertshuset Røros, at Ullfabrikken, the newer part of the hotel. The rooms are excellent, but the beds were a bit soft and narrow. We also missed air conditioning - although that is seldom required at Røros we like it to be cool at night. The rooms were clean when we got there, but it was not cleaned again during our stay. They did not even replace the glasses that we had used! They did the beds, however, but not much more. My parents did not have soap in the dispenser in the bathroom, which we mentioned to the front staff, but it was not refilled until we left.

Breakfast was great, although the staff was slow at refilling. We had dinner one night at Vertshuset. Excellent food - we had both reindeer, moose and fish.

Vertshuset is very centrally located, next door to the Røros Church.

We stayed here overnight on a brief weekend visit to Roros. The staff were very friendly and helpful and the room comfortable, cosy and warm, with a little balcony. The public rooms are very pleasant. Of particular note was the breakfast buffet - extremely good. The fish soup, the previous night, was excellent. I would certainly recommend this small hotel.
