Food Asylum has a varied menu, primarily focused on sushi and yakitori.
The locale is usually quite busy, and reservations may be needed especially around weekends. The sushi, maki and sashimi is great, both in taste and presentation. The yakitori-not so much. Not so much at all. The beef tataki was memorable, but not in a good way. The gyozas were a disappointment. Service was ok as this was a very busy night.
Now if this was an isakaya-style establishment, I wouldn't mind too much being served greased fluff pastry instead of gyozas. I would not complain too much about stale meat either. But when the bill sums up at a little under 2000NOK/350USD for two people, I expect the overall
quality to be better. Would maybe visit again for the sushi, which is very good, but then again skipping dining here saves you half the air fare for Kristiansand-Tokyo.
